Price ? $59.99 US
Release date ? Mid-April was anticipated
More specs ?
Dimensions: 58x36x17mm
Weight: about 46 gms. with 500 mAH battery
May not have a photo mode in the first release, but FW development will continue.
Video-out mode is planned.
Configuration via a GUI program is planned.
I hope to have a test version soon.

Also, it will have some competition from a 1080p camera from the #16 developer, also in the final stages of development. I posted a video sample in my #16 thread.

Oh, i thought the 16 and 26 came from the same factory / seller

I love my #16 , can you PM me the link to your post about the 1080 #16 that's coming ?

Thanks

I see the 30 FPS video, the vehicles are jerky if you look closely. I would want better than that for my next one.

Judging from the sample movies, looks like the new #24 (from the #16 developer) will be better than this...

Look at the corners, very poor focus.

People are getting confused. There never was an "official" #24 (the naming convention comes from ChuckLohr.com/808). Someone posted the sample from THIS #26 camera and called it #24 for some reason. The #26 designation was later agreed to between the developer and Chuck Lohr, even though this camera has a considerably larger case in the same style as the small 808 cameras.

The #18 and #16 developers originally worked together to develop the #11, but then went their separate ways and developed the #18 and #16 cameras, which now compete for the same market. The #16 developer will have a new 1080 camera ready for release shortly. The case will be approximately the same overall dimensions, but will have it's own unique case design. I do not expect it to have a number designation like the #26 for that reason.

Anyone interested in seeing a sample video from the #16 developer's 1080p camera can go to my #16 thread in this aerial photography forum and do a thread search for "1080". My post with the video link to the sample will be in the first several posts.

oh, so there are two new 1080p cameras from the two different 808 developers?
This one posted here as 808 #26, and another from the 808 #16 developer?

Maybe it's best to wait for a new thread relating to the 808 #16 1080p cam, as it's not the 808 #16 cam it seems slightly off topic to post there, even if the developers are the same.

From previews of THIS cam (808 #26) it seems like the same crappy lens they use in the jumbo hd, with a narrow fov and poor/slow adjusting to lighting and not good at filming something when there is a light behind it, unlike the 808 #16 (original) which is much better in both these areas, so I'd assume the 808 #16 1080p HD should be better than this one for results.

And, the jumbo hd 1080p records at a bitrate of 17.4 Mbps but the raw files from chucklor for this 808 #26 it's only 12.6 Mbps.
so really the only advantage I see of this cam over the original jumbo hd is a better case design, and maybe (can't tell from the previews) no more frame jumping, dead pixels or crashing.
(and yes, I know higher birtate doesn't always mean better quality, but it's a major factor)

You can indeed search within a thread, the option is at the top right, right next to the rating. You can also restrict the search to posts by a particular user to narrow the results.
That said, here's the link to Tom's post concerning an eventual 1080 camera from the makers of the #16:

Look near the top of the page, there is a button called "Search this thread", use that on the #16 thread.

wow.. just saw the preview of the 808 #16 1080p and it looks very impressive, great focus, colour, lighting, look forward to a non-fisheye (just normal) video preview to truely gague this vs the 808 #26 or the jumbo but so far, looks very good, I just hope the design is better than the jumbo hd
