Flybar-less / 3-axis control systems

New Forum Suggestion
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forum Name: Flybar-less Control Systems. Alternately 3-Axis Control Systems (since one day the term 'flybar' will be an anachronism.)

Category: Aircraft - Electric - Heli's

Description: A discussion of technical information about Flybar-less flight control systems for RC helicopters. Since a large proportion of RC heli's are electric powered (the majority, I think) I suggest that this new forum be placed in the electric heli's category.

Justification: interest in 3-axis control systems is widespread and growing. All major manufacturers offer flybar-less models, but the technical in's-and-out's of flybar-less control devices eludes many aero-modelers. i.e.: I have flown single-rotor RC helicopters for over five years and still don't understand flybar-less systems.

The other serious RC helicopter forums have dedicated areas to discuss flybar-less controllers and it seems fitting that we on RCG do so as well. Let me also say that I am installing and learning about two systems on different models and will be glad to share my experiences.

It may be useful to create sticky sub-categories for the most well-known units, i.e.: 3G/3GX, BeastX, FlyMentor, HeliCommand, Skookum Robotics, Total G, V-stabi, ZXY, etc.

I think this is a great idea. I just got done doing a HK450 with a ZYX and FBL head conversion, it was intimidating to say the least. I did however get some good help over in the ZYX threads tho.

IMHO, this is the way to go on a heli and I would never go back to a flybared unit again. Sooo, lets rock ! :D

Yes. I need lots of help with matching my Helicommand to my DX8 for controlling the modes on the Pilot and Aux1 output lines. I am new to this hobby.
