Help with led set up.

Hi everyone. I building a new quad. I have two 1 meter strips, each minus 3 leds that I cut off. I always use 4s batteries. Would like to know what type of resistor I need to wire in to drop the 4s to acceptable voltage for leds? Also, important part, how do I wire them in? Thanks rkenosha

Hmmm A cheap LM7812 (<$1.00US) Voltage Regulator might work better. Drop the voltage down to the 12v the strips are already expecting. Slap a small heat sink on it and make sure it's near the prop wash.

Each 1 metre strip will draw less than 400mA so I suggest the easiest thing to do is buy a small 3 cell LiPo (500-1000mAH) and wire the LED strips directly to it. It's a ready made solution.
Wire both strips in parallel.

Or buy a small switching buck regulator on ebay. These are adjustable in voltage and very cheap as well.
Connect this to the outer contacts of the balance plug for simplicity.
