        Question Lazy retract?

Lazy retract?
I am suffering from a lazy electric retract that sometimes opens straight away, sometimes after several seconds, and sometimes never unless I cycle the gear switch once or twice. The other is 100% spot on all the time.
Without having to buy another, is there a way of fixing this?

Try removing it from the surrounding structure to see if it is a physical bind problem.

Other option is to try switching the Y-connector if used to tie both to a single channel and/or plug each separately into the gear channel to check function. If you have a bad extension or Y-cable perhaps the voltage to that retract is compromised.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out.

My first task in trouble shooting a sticky retract is to loosen all the mounting screws. See if it frees up. If it does, then the retract rails are not true. I've sometimes rebeded them with washers but when its bad I'll lift up the retract and slop some thickened epoxy or JB weld in there, coat the retract rails with vaseline and screw the retract back down. Not tight, just snug.
