I've gotten started. Here are the fuselage formers made up. The formers in one fuselage side and then the second side installed. Really need to be careful when putting the second side on, the formers can be fragile :o.

I built my 'Coupe w/flap wing 5 years ago. Got it all covered and just needed to decide on final trim scheme. Put it on the shelf "for a while" and a few days ago finally pulled it out again. I think I'm going to simplify the scheme and recover the wing and tail feathers. Gotta come up with a new motor too as I gave away all the IPS gearboxes I was planning to use with a Medusa 12mm motor. :rolleyes: Will probably go with an outrunner now as I can't find any IPS stuff anymore.

I'll watch your build as it's been so long I can't even remember my build! :D

Thanks for the interest and encouragement.

I've gotten a little further, have assembled the landing gear assembly, servo/firewall mount, and firewall. Unfortunately when I went to join the servo/firewall mount to the landing gear assembly I discovered that the tabs on FW2 are not centered and of course I have then wrong with relation to FW3 &FW4. Now trying to decide if I should trim the tabs on FW2 or if that would weaken the assembly too much.

How much needs to be trimmed off. If its not that much the. It shouldn't be anything to sorry about and you could always add a filler piece or fill the gap with some epoxy.

I decided to trim the tabs to fit. I was nervous about debonding the assembly, I used a lot (probably more than was needed) of CA and wondered if I was able to debond it would I weaken the plywood pieces. Here is what the assembly looks like all put together.

I got side-tracked for a while and then forgot to take pictures as I went along. I am almost to the covering stage and here are some pictures to show my progress.

I followed the plans and they had the wrong spot for part TA3, which is the "guide" for the aileron cable. The control horn on the sport wing is in the center of the full lenght aileron so I had to cobble a "guide" in the correct position. Now I am not sure if I should attach the struts in the normal position or if I should go to the other side of the rib. Concern is the way it is now, the aileron cable has a "hump" in it right before it exits the wing, not sure if that will put too much stress on the single aileron servo.
