.Q500 pylon racing from the plane by nswpylon.org (part 1)

Roughly 180-190 KPH.
Using a Keychain HD (thanks BulletMaster) camera velcro (actually Hobbyking hook/loop) and a Great Planes Viper 500, Thunder Tiger Pro46, RAM 10x6 propellor.
10.5 laps of the circuit.
Not trying too hard and a little messy but still an awesome view.
Keep an eye out for the pylons on the ground.
A couple of cuts on Pylon 3 (are there really 3 pylons?)

Standard engine so I guess this is similar to US 424?

Looks a lot like 424 - only we use the TTpro .40, not .46 (some groups in the states DO use the 46 locally) and the APC 9/6 sport prop.

And yes, there are three pylons.. :)

thanks for sharing! Neat videos.

I wish my landings were that smooth:)
Really great vids, I like seeing the other plane in there too.

hey guys, can someone tell me if im getting setup for pilon racing using a viper 500 what gear would i need to get and wheres the best place to buy it. Also is there any mods id need to do like mufflers props etc to race.

Get three Hitec 225MG servos. One Hitec HS81 throttle servo. Thunder Tiger pro 40 Motor. We use a 9X6 APC prop. I buy my stuff from http://www.towerhobbies.com/

I cut away the covering around the tail and add 2 oz fiberglass to beef it up. I also add fiberglass to the firewall and landing gear, and wing hold downs.

The viper comes with a fuel tank and wheels. Find a local Pylon racing parts dealer and get a 4 oz bubbless fuel tank. I use Jett. I also replace the crappy wheels it comes with.

The NMPRA Pylon Nationals Championship is next weekend, Saturday & Sunday, at the Julian flying field located on Liberty Road, North Carolina. Only the Q-40 (422) planes are competing.

Mike and Henry Nelson both will be there

Will you be there?

You should start a new thread and title it NMPRA National Championship. People are going to think someone just responded to this thread of Q500 424 video.

If the Race were on Pay per view TV I would buy it and watch. Unfortunately I can't be there.
