1/8 tires
Are the ZH tires really worth 3x the price of the Venom's?

I recon the venom V1 tyres are real good...

I also have a ZH203b... And the standard tyres on that are pretty good too... But I think they're harder compound than the V1... They don't have same grip level, but don't tear up as much eigther... So the must be harder eh..?

I would like to get the ZH super soft to try them out...

I love venom V1... For price, and grip... Problem is for me is I'm sorta unable to do a back to back comparison... And the venom front tyre doesn't fit on the ZH rim that well eigther...

So all that said... I probably haven't helped you at all...

I have the v1's now, and are pretty good. Just wondering if there is any benefit to spending that much more for a tire. Do like the grooved ZH though, those look cool

Yes me too, I do want to try the SS on the rear of my super HOR. Seems like the softer you can get for the rears, the better. I stagger my setup, the rear always one step softer than the front, what u do?

ZH has 2 compounds. A 50 (soft) and 30 (extra-soft).

For racing - zh slicks (the softer ones) are awesome. The v1's produce similiar laptimes but the zh's have less squirm than the v1's. Belting the v1's seem to put them on par with the zh's but is messy and involved. If you are just bashing they are both good tires. I can't remember 100% but I think the treaded zh's need the sides dremmeled on the front or else they would rub on the gpv.

The other thing to think about is the ZH tyres also come with inserts I beleive...

If the lap times are very similar, then I guess the main factors would be, longevity... price... availability... And will they fit your brand of bike...(you can make anything fit, just depends how much time you wanna spend)

As for how do I run my tyres... Just for hoonin around the track... I mostly use the same front and rear, but do sometimes wack a harder compound on the rear... Just so it spins up a little easier and gets a more forgiving power slide... Always run as soft as I have on the front though... And we run all sorts of tempetures here too... Cold days ambient air temp gets down to say... 10-12•C...hot day would be up around 36-38•C...

I forgot about the insert, thats included with the ZH. :o

IMO zh tires are awesome all around. V1 tires with a 4000kv motor or under geared low is best for the buck!
