I know for 450's, people say a fast tail servo is crucial. Most of the recommendations i've seen are .08sec/60 deg or less. Is that not important with the larger heli's?

I'm asking, not saying there is anything wrong with your build...I really have no idea.

i dont know, but ive already picked another servo that i am going to put on a 450 serie. the 500 serie is a little too big for me :)

I'm using that one on one of my 450's, despite many people warning me that it overheats and fails prematurely. So far so good, though it does get warm, up to 130f, so I always let it cool down in between flights. It works no better than the cheaper HK15158A, however.

I think you wil definitely need a higher rated ESC about 60A lowest to be safe.

This motor should be good

Good for the gearing on the HK500 as standard.
I don't have this model but have done all the research and not sure whether to trust a clone heli this size which has quality issues. I may still go ahead and do all the mods.

I have the same motor on my HK450. Works well. It's my first heli, so I don't really have an idea of how powerful it is compared to others...but it seems to have plenty of power.

I've been using a 50-65A ESC

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...0_65A_ESC.html

Works great and is cheap. After a fairly hard flight (well, hard by my noob standards), it's not even warm.

EDIT: By the way, what made you go from a 500 to a 450? not saying it's a bad thing...but your build list will almost completely change based on that 450 you have picked out.

I'm using the 2223 in my 450 Pro in a 4s setup, and it works well. On 4s, it's only pulling 12A average, so probably peaks of less than 30A. On 3s, you might be able to pull over 40A.
