Aphro's glider EBay

Any opinions on this glider ? As a sloper ? I'm just getting back into rc gliders after many years away and the choices are mesmorizing.
I like the look of this plane. But the wing looks kinda chunky.
I'm warming up with a Multiplex Dart.

It may be new and unopened. But how old is this model? Quick guess: 1985

In 1985 you got 239 Yen for one $.
Kit prize was 34,000 Yen = 142 USD.

The asking price / starting bid seems completely ridiculous to me.

Other than that, nice looking vintage model. The lack of wing taper doesn't need to be a bad thing.

There's a lot of slope plane to be had for 300 bucks, or even far less...

Thanks. I didn't think about that Yen evaluation. I think he has been trying to sell this for some time. Explains why he still has it. Maybe when the listing runs out I'll make him an offer.
Thanks for the links as well.
I'm also considering one of the Art Hobby gliders.

Great flyers, and the kit is good value for money.
The only reservations I have:
- It's basically a short kit. Lot's of work to do to get her in the air. (Can be fun, but you'll need some experience / determination)
- I don't like the way they do the wing joiner. (Patch of glass fiber)

I'm still inrtigued by this glider and currently trying to negotiate a price with the seller. Shipping is a killer due to the length of the box,
I was hoping more of you experienced flyers could take a look at this and let me know what you think,
Based on the limited information is it worth taking the risk ?
Any flying predictions ? Is going to be heavy ? fast ? thermal ok ?
Would it winch and hi-start ok ?
Looks like full flying v-tail surfaces. Good/bad ?

I'm afraid you're on your own. There is no information whatsoever to find about this model.

Judging a plane from a picture isn't really possible.
It will no doubt fly on a slope. You can slope pretty much everything.
I wouldn't count on it being able to resist a winch. It'll need a serious spar for that.

Buying it is a risk, but you've clearly fallen in love, so nothing is going to stop you...;).

One more thing...

The classifieds here on RCG can have some pretty vintage gliders too.
