Instead of the usual entry fee, bring a new unwrapped toy of $10 or more value for each day.
To be held at our Seminole State College field Saturday, Barr St field Sunday. Pilots meeting at 9:45 Saturday, 8:45 Sunday.

I picked up a couple of Hitec "HawkEye" throw gliders from Maniac's Hobby Complex, formerly known as Warrick's Hobby Superstore, in Plantation. I figure it makes the most sense to give kids toy gliders if we want them to become interested in our hobby someday.

The Hitec HawkEye looks very similar to the apparently discontinued Multiplex Fox gliders that many people have converted to R/C, except the fuselage is wider and the wingspan is slightly longer, with different shaped wingtips. I know because I have a Multiplex Fox to compare it to. Unfortunately I cleaned out their inventory, so if you want to pick some up you'll have to go to a different store. These gliders really fly nicely and playing catch with them is more fun than a Frisbee.

Can we get a list going? I assume we can count on Raed Elazzawi and Rick Eckel. In addition, Dan Johns, Paul Mittendorff, and I definitely plan to come, and Jamie Mercado and Ray Alonzo aren't sure. Who else?

I am going to start with the bad news: The college field is going to be closed Saturday (school is out for winter break!)
The good news is we have access to the new field in Christmas at 22305 E Colonial Dr, Christmas, FL 32709, 2.7 miles east of the 520 exit, 1.35 miles west of Fort Christmas Rd, GPS: 2832'9.75"N 81 2'24.69"W
PIlots meeting 9:45 Saturday, 8:45 Sunday
Barr St field stays as a back up.
Thanks for understanding, thanks for your continued support.
