169" Emmaselle 2 Racer

Hi all,

My name is Klaus VanHammersmart.

I am DAGs chief manager over all his builds.

As many know he started a project called the EII (Emmaselle 2)

He got it about 90% complete then set it aside so he could work on his B36. Well me and the guys thought it needed to get done for SEFF 2013 with the B36. In fact the guys and me feel we can have it done in the next month giving us plenty of time to help get the B36 done also;). We also thought it deserved its own thread. Many of the pictures started on the tail end of his Emmaselle thread.

So here we are, over the next week I will post EII pictures from the start, and then post what me and the guys have done over the last 3 months.

And just so you all know, DAG gave me his password and gave me a thumbs up to start this thread.

Rock and roll on, as DAG would say....

Thanks so much for the update on the EII. I am glad to see that Dag has employed you all to finish the EII. Keep up the good work, and make sure Dag stays on task with the B36.;):D:popcorn:

Good luck little ones!

Be careful with that CA glue--it's murder on your plastic limbs  :)

Here are some of the early design drawings.

Some of the drawings show flying wires on the wings which were dropped due to drag and struts are used now. This plane is to represent a 1921 racer if DAG were alive back then and designed and built it himself with little or no funds... LOL kinda sounds like him today:)

This design started in Nov 2010 to be done by SEFF 2011 (that never happened).

The construction started around Dec 20th 2010.

I will be posting all the build photos up to present time...

Well Klaus I must say you and your diminutive crew are first class craftsman. I have to ask one thing though. The lovely lady that makes an appearance in some of the pics looks to be both large and in charge so to speak. Would this be the case or does she function as heavy lift capacity for large sub assemblies since I don't see any gantries or cranes and such?

Dag, this plane is great. It cries out to be built as a full scale home-built. It looks like it would be an absolute dream to fly.
