2012-2013 North Indianapolis Winter Indoor Fly-in Season - 16 Saturday Night Dates

1 Attachment(s)
We have 16 Saturday night fly-in dates scheduled for the 2012-2013 season at Roundtripper Baseball Academy (RBA) located in Westfield, Indiana (north Indianapolis suburb). RBA is an indoor baseball practice facility with a very spacious flying area at 130' x 150' x 35'. The ground surface at RBA is comprised of artificial grass. Below is a video from a past indoor fly-in to give you an idea facility's size and overall environment.

RoundTripper Sports Academy Indoor Fly-in - November 20, 2010 (14 min 35 sec)

This season's pilot fee is $10.00 per fly-in. Spectators and pilots under under the age of 10 years old are free. Newbies are also welcomed. No AMA is required to fly. Electric airplanes and electric helis (450 size and under) only.

This year, all starting times are locked in at no later than 9:00 pm. However, there will be periodic fly-ins in which we'll be able to start earlier than the scheduled times. In this case, I send out an email as early as possible to notify our pilots of the time change. If I don't have your email address and you wish to be on the email distribution list for time change notification, please PM me your name and email address.

See the fly-in schedule below or download the fly-in schedule flyer. We look forward to another successful indoor flying season!

Would love to be able to make it out to one of these. How crowded are they? If a relative newbie shows up is there enough room for him to make a mistake without interfering with others?

I went to last Saturday night. It was pretty busy up until I left at 11. I was a newbie and greeted warmly by the group. Seems like everyone is there to have fun. There are all kinds of skill levels flying and no one is there to ridicule and laugh at you, just laugh with you. There were some mid-air collisions so be aware that what you fly can be damaged. Come out and watch sometime and see what you think. It really is a lot of fun!

Thanks. I hope to make it out sometime but it's a drive from me and late so we'll see. Found another closer to me at "The Gathering Place" in Greenwood. It's more money and requires an AMA membership though.

Yes, please come out and at least watch us fly. If you just watch once, you'll want to fly the next time ;).

If my back will stop hurting hoping to come tonight. I've got 2 MQXs, a MCX, MCX2, 2 Champs, a T-28, and an 11yo side kick who likes to fly.
