Lvtp-7

hi all
does anyone have any scale plans of the LVTP-7 in 1/16 scale.? or even 1/35.
Looking to build one or two, one for water and one for land.

I just so happen to have some from my build. You will have to scale them up to 1/16 for full size, but all the measurements are correct. There should be a build blog on this site of it also. The one I made is truly amphibious so you would only need one.
PM me for more information and price.

hi green
where did you get the wheels and track from?

Track was from Mato Mart in Canada. Wheels and axles were "donated" by a M26 Pershing tank.

hi green
what did you use to make the lvtp, was it plastic card?

Hi Will,

No, I used 1/8 plywood, but it could be made from styrene in that thickness for the strength needed for the suspension.

Did you find the build log on it?

Yes, I did while on active duty back in the 80's. Here is a video of it in the creek.

Herman that is just plain bada$$. I was facinated with all that you did to fabricate these amphibius vehicles when I seen them first hand @Danville last year. I just have to say that you do amazing work.

Thanks for that comment Chiefsonn! I have found that it keeps me off the street and out of the bars.

Willhappy, try a search for LVTP-7 in the upper right corner of the page.

hi green
Hell your lvtp-7 just looks so good. Found other pics of lvtp-7.
I know that i keep asking you all these questions, so i hope a few more would be ok.
For the control of the motors did you uses gears or a speed control that controled both of the motors like the sabbertooth controler

Hi Will,

Questions are not a problem and I will answer as much as I know. I used 4 brushless motors and 4 speed controls in the LVTP-7 with channel mixing on a Futaba 10C raido. This has given me independent control of all 4 motors and paired control of the track motors and the water jet motors.
