The U.S. F3B Team Selection Event 2012
Hi to all,
The Inland Soaring Society, in cooperation with the Southern California Soaring Clubs, and courtesy of the Southern California Antique Model Plane Society (SCAMPS) and the Riverside RC Club presents the 2012 AMA F3B Team Selection Event. The location is adjacent to the City of Perris, California, and scheduled for the dates of October 27, 28 and 29, 2012.
This AMA Sanctioned event does not require an FAI stamp, but all contestants must pay a participant entry to the AMA, as well as a contest entry fee of $80.00 per pilot. Deadline for entry forms is September 27, 2012. Please see the attached contest information sheet for details and entry form. The Contest Director is Mike Lee, (firstname.lastname@example.org).

Free flight field
Just a note regarding the Scamps Free Flight field.:
Generally on Wednesdays the Free flight field is in use untill about noon.
I have been told that the group meets there regularly.. :)
Unfortunately I am unable to participate as a pilot this cycle, however, will make every effort to be at the TS contest on Friday to help as needed.

First I also would like to thank Mike Lee and everyone else involved in setting up this TS, you guys are awesome.
Two questions. Can I send my registration to Mike by email or does it need to be snail mail?
How do I send the $20 fee to AMA?
At the bottom of the entry form I show my PayPal account name allowing the payment by that methodd and then just zap the written entry form to me by email. I hope that helps.
Actually, all payments should be made to the AMA. You can do this over the phone to Colleen Pierce and pay via credit card.
If people have already sent payments to Mike, he will have to forward those to Colleen.

So who is planning on competing? I'd like to get an idea for group sizes etc.

Do we need to form a team to compete ?
3 man teams are allowed. It is much more difficult to compete without a team, but it can be done. I don't recommend it. So, in my opinion, yes you need to form a team to compete.
This is the reason I wanted to get the discussion going about who is going or might be interested in going. You can start talking about teaming arrangements etc.
I know there are already 2 or 3 teams that are already formed, but I'm not sure about any more. Ideally you want to get at least one person on your team with some F3B experience. It will make the event more fun.
