KK 2.0 Delrin Protection Case

3 Attachment(s)
Hey all,

I had many requests for a case for the new KK2.0 board. It has finally arrived.
I designed this case and mill them myself.

Specs are listed below!

KK 2.0 Delrin Protection Case
CNC Machined Delrin Case for the KK 2.0 Multirotor Boards. Provides protection from damage in the event of a crash.

This protection case is designed for the KK 2.0 Multi-rotor controllers, and provides an easy mounting solution on any multirotor. The control board is secured to the bottom of the case with double sided foam tape (not provided), and the top half is attached with the (4) 3mm screws. There are no screws protruding from the bottom of the case, so it may be flush mounted to any airframe. All pins are accessible, and programming buttons can be pushed with a ball point pen or other instrument.

There is also an arrow to designate the correct direction for mounting your board.

Case weight with screws: 22g
Case and board weight: 38g
Approximate Dimensions: 2.5" x 2.5"

Looks nice Chris

They look great. Would it be possible for some risers so you could use the buttons without pushing something in the hole?

I thought about that... but it would just be extra money to find them and incorporate them... I might save that for version 2 depending on how much interest I get in these.

Oh I like that because you know just one little bump and BAMMMMMM the lcd is cracked :P nice nice nice...

I plan on putting some small holes in the bottom so I can bolt it to my frame the way mine is set up the double sided tape wont work but its just a simple matter of drilling 4 holes then mounting it i really do like this a lot...

Nicely done! I'll place an order later this week.

Thanks all.

I thought about having the holes in the case match the hole pattern on the board, but the hole pattern make not be exacly the same on every board. I also dont like the idea of a frame flexing in a crash and sacrificing my board. I chose to make the holes external.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone :-)

I use the plastic standoffs they pop off rather easy with out damaging the board but i was talking about just holes in the bottom part of the case :) so that i can mount it to the frame :)

How much added height is there with this? I'm interested although running out of room on my Pro Tricopter Delrin Kit.

#14 Chris Moon Jul 17, 2012 11:20 PM

The overall height ends up being 1/2" I used 2 pieces of .25" delrin.
