Looks pretty cool, I was trying to see if I could rig one of these Lensse Midpro Steady Camera Stabilizers to my DJI F550 but your thing looks way nicer.

Seems great, good work!

I hope your frame/gimbal works fine and closely follow your work. What electronic do you use for the test?

What is required for the steadycam? Gyros like the Ecilop?

#12 jcmonty May 22, 2012 12:32 PM

Looks promising. What sized cameras is it designed for?

#13 rukie May 22, 2012 07:03 PM

Looks very promising, i just hope cost is not too high since this is just design improvement from the ecilop easy.

I have the Ecliop and love it. This setup looks amazing, but a couple of things to note:

1- Please make sure the landing gear is very strong and rigged. Nothing worse than flimsy plastic, and with this type of setup if it fails there will be a lot of expensive damage. Its worth the extra weight.
2- Make sure the there is a wide range of movement for the battery holder. The Ecilop is limited here.
3- Please use good quality bearings on the steady cam mechanics, and make it so that they can be interchanged regularly,
4- Pan axis would be a welcome addition!
5- If you are using a spring system to control the axis's then it needs to work in a way that it does not load up the servo gears to one side, like the ecilop does. I can see myself needing new gear sets regularly with this setup..

Look forward to finding out more on this hex!
