I just order one last night. Have anyone out there have flown this eagle and can tell me the pros &cons? Should I mode or replace a standard servo with that of a metal gear?

Oh and one more very important question. Does the motor in this kit provides adequate power? This will be a predatory figure in the skies and I WILL have to get out of dodge:eek: ( in a climb ) when that time comes!!

GLO, In case you haven't seen it here is a vid of it flying. Anxious to see your report on it! Best, Aero

Thanks Aero. I forgot about that video. That'll come in handy*

Yeah, I have been eyeing this one because like you I want something that will glide well with a low wing loading and looks real in the sky. I would really like to have a Lazy Hawk orni but leery of ordering one based on your bad experience in waiting so long! Anyway, I may have to get one of these. They look great in the vid :) Aero

As you know, I'm waiting for a big lazy hawk from Sean. So far, it's been a little over 3 months. That'll be my Last bird from him. The BLH is the best Gilder that he has to date. I think it does really well.

Well, G-LO, I pulled the trigger and ordered one of the RC Eagle kites so we can both wait for them now :) Best, Aero

Well, alright ..

Check this one out. He put a rudder on his bird....I might just do this too. It seems to help with the yaw pretty good.

Yeah, it turns much flatter for sure! Not sure about the orange color though :) Did you get any kind of shipping notice or anything yet? Aero

#11 G-LO Jun 20, 2012 07:30 PM

Ah So! It is moving. I just ordered mine today so hopefully it will ship in the next couple days. No big rush as I will be gone for a few days but always nice to know that our toys are in the mail somewhere :) Aero

Aero and G-LO,

Mine(ARF) arrived today(Calif.) and I used the least expensive shipping cost. Arrived safely in 5 days via USPS. Signature is required.

Contents were protected with foam and were in excellent condition.

The box has a handle and can store/transport the model.

Took out all of the pieces to inspect and everything looked fine. Very sturdy airframe.

The dual servo connector(pictured below) couples the 'ailerons' and the direction of the motor together on one channel.

While the brass sleeves that hold the flying surfaces together may appear a little crude, they work well and everything fits snugly.

Folding wing joint.

Tail servo.

The instruction manual shows how to assemble the model but there is no info regarding servo throws, CG,etc... We'll have to 'wing it' :o)

So, I'm sure you're wondering if this model is worth the $$$ ? IMHO, yes it is.
