Problem reaching server / Client update

Is there a problem with the Hover Fly server? I'm getting this error of not able to reach / connect to the server.

Thanks

It was down for a few hours last night. It's back up now.

Is the server down right now? I am trying to update my HFP on a new build but can;t seem to connect on either of my computers

Yes, there has been an unexpected outage of our host. Not sure when it will be back up, but generally these things get resolved over night.

I have very limited time to test my rig, can you please make sure the host knows the server is down. Thanks.

We've been talking with them. It's a system wide outage

Just talked to them again. Looks like some services are coming back up now. They are saying the earliest we can expect availability is in the next couple hours, the latest sometime tonight.

George,

Perhaps it is time to look into an off-site mirror server. The potential for a cascade failure among your growing user base is non-trivial. Co-location to host the mirror should cost less than $50/month. If you need a referral, call me; you have my number.

I bet the host is claiming 99.9% up-time too. I find many servers are saying that, but can't live up to it. I like the mirror site idea. .....:popcorn::popcorn: ........

Yeah, unfortunately these kinds of things do happen. All of our services are currently cloud based, meaning they ARE mirrored and should theoretically never go down.

This doesn't mean a bug in the storage node's firmware can't cause down time :o. No matter what we do there is always a potential for down time, but hopefully with time we'll see less and less of this.
