XPS-3216, transmitter specifications

4 Attachment(s)
Well, it is official. I have decided to make the upcoming transmitter and replacement boards support up to 32 channels. The number of inputs is still 16, but the number of possible outputs is now hard coded to 32.

The frame rate is based on the number of channels you choose, with fewer channels being faster. With a 6 channel setup you can choose a 5ms frame rate, while 32 channels requires a max of 20ms (done as two groups of 16 channel outputs, 10ms each).

New receiver firmware will be required to support channels 17-32. No changes to existing receivers are required if you plan to use 16 or fewer channels.

* Official specifications (as of 07/25/13):

Number of channels: 2-32, user selectable
Number of control inputs: 16, 2 gimbals, 8 switches, 2 sliders, 2 pots
Frame rate: 3.5ms to 20ms, based on number of channels used
Resolution: 65536 (16 bit), via 12 bit ADC with 16x oversampling
Display: 240x64 LCD, back lit white, polarized lens friendly
Power requirements: 5v-16v (Lipo, LiFe, Nicd, Nimh compatible)
Gimbals: dual ball bearing, adjustable tension and stick lengths
Audio out: 3w speaker with sound, music, and speech capabilities
Frequency: Swappable internal module system can support a variety of 2.4GHz/900MHz protocols
CPU: dsPIC @ 40 mips, 100% assembly code
Model memory: >524288 on an 4GB storage card, 100 favorites stored internally
Storage type: 1Mbit EEPROM, 32Mbit FLASH ROM, and micro SD media card
RF Technology: DivBee® module for XtremeLink protocol, LETO and other protocols will be possible
Telemetry: built-in, with event programming features
Retail price: $249-$299, depending on SD media storage option

Note: it will be possible to make this transmitter multi-brand compatible in a single box, ie. XtremeLink, Futaba FASST and S-FHSS, Hitec AFHSS, Spektrum DSM/2/X, etc.

Logging in to keep track. I'm happy with my XP9303 with XPS module and don't really need more channels, but this radio would be sweet to have, especially since my current 30-model memory is full.
