Zippy Compact LiPo's - any reports?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Y_Compact.html
Anyone using them? Any good?

EDIT: My conclusion as of 31 Dec 2012.
Having completed my 35th cycle of the 4 packs I bought (25C, 3S, 5000mAh), I think these 25C packs are junk, not worth spending money on no matter how cheap -
All 4 have now puffed,
Capacity is down to 75% of new,
Voltage at low C currents are 10.6 - 10.9V from 11.4-11.6V when new.

Haiyin, Chinahobbyline or Turnigy batteries are similary priced but are much better batteries.

I would like to know also. I have been checking different pack combinations for 8s 5800-6000Mah. and the compacts are 1lb less total weight and also the least expensive. I am a little concerned at 25c, but my setup should only be 80A. 5c charge rates too, usually means less pack resistance. Any thought's ?

I have the regular Zippy's.
These are 16% lighter than the ones I have.

Don't know about these but barring some new technology I don't think there is a substitute for weight with a battery.

I will have 5 for our club here mid next week. 1300 4S packs. We are using 800 4S now in our little 50mm jets for only a 2 minute run. These should be able to fit the airframes with little to no mods and get us at least a 3 minute flight.
We will only be pushing them at 20-25 amps so only around 20C. Heat will be my best signature as well as IR...

FWIW,

I received 5 1300 4S compacts today.

Size and weight is accurate.
I only have one charge as of now. IR is hanging around 8 which makes them a 24C pack according tho this site:
http://www.jj604.com/LiPoTool/

I will have at least 5 cycles on the first one by late tonight.

OK, 5 cycles on these now. IR is hanging around mid to high 7's on all cells so round up to 8.
Capacity is accurate. I cycled down at 2A to 3.30 volts on the lowest cell and putjust over 1200mah back in.
As for size, they are almost the exact size as my Turnigy 3S 1300 30C packs so we got a free cell for the footprint. :D

@Rick, do you know how those IR's compare to other packs like Turnigy and Gen's Ace?

From the HK blog:
Our new low price yet amazing LiPo packs come from a totally new facility in one of the dryest areas of China.
Dry is good then?

Rick be sure to report back as these get some real turn and burn EDF flights on them.

Only 1 flight on my 2 packs. They are real 24C packs, delivered full capacity but only time will tell if they have good cycles or not. There are a total of 5 of these in our club and we do gaggles every Saturday so we should get a lot of cycles in a few months. The real test will be >6 months from now. They came out warm from a 25 and 30 amp constant discharge flight. The second flight was on my little Mig 15 where the ESC let go and she left a smoke trail. I glided to cool it off, landed right in front of the flight station I was at and then the ESC really lit up. That pack may have dumped pretty hard. I know what one it was, it is the darker white one. :D

I was looking to replace my worn out 2.5 yr old neu xp4100s with something similar in capacity and weight. Most everything is either much heavier or expensive.
Saw these on HKs site early last month, ordered and they finally arrived!
4 5S Zippy compact 35C 4500 packs for my 10S Tams F-16.
They're alittle heavier but that was expected with the extra 400mah and the price was less than 1/2 of what I paid for the on sale at the time XP4100s.:)
Need to start cycling them, Weight is 580gms per 5S pack.:D
I will post my IR readings when I start cycling but don't know if my Hyperion duo is very accurate with IR.
Also a quick cycling question, 4.2V down to ??V.
how high can I set the cutoff voltage and still consider it a cycle?
5S 4000-5000packs take a long time to drain on my hyperion.

Good to hear guys! Looking forward to your continued reports. I actually just picked up the same batteries as you Bruce so i'm looking forward to how you go with yours, as it's going to be a few months before I get to use mine in flight, and probably a month before I can even get a bench setup up and going.

Most are not set up to cycle any but the smallest LiPoly bench wise.

IMO anything less than 3C discharges are a joke and you really need to work up to the range they will be flown at. My advice is to fly them in other aircraft to break them in or keep flights shorter as in using 50% or so capacity only. Start with 1C charges and increase every couple or three flights.
