The Isaacson Winter Classic
February 11-13, 2012 Lost Hills, CA

The Isaacson Winter Classic is one of the premier FreeFlight contests in the United States. For the past several years we have had over 200 entries, last year, over 250! In addition to a full slate of FAI FF (including slope soaring), there will a variety of AMA and NFFS events.

NEW! This year we will host the “Kiwi” New Zealand World Cup FAI contest. We are introducing the “Frank Zaic” Awards for limited function FAI models (see flier).

Nostalgia Gas will be separated into individual events, not grouped as in the past.
Dawn Mulvihill and Moffett are back. There will be three different events for just catapult glider.

Check out the attached flier for the full schedule of events and contact information.
Stay for the whole week. The “Ike” is the first of four contests beginning Feb. 11 and ending Feb. 19th.

We had a great turnout for the Isaacson Winter Classic/Kiwi World Cup. 199 entries in the FAI events and 159 in the AMA classes, 358 total! Almost perfect weather. Son, Brian, shot many photos and they are online at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/4467067...7629311887803/

Join us next year!

thank you for posting results

thanks Norm for posting events and Brian's picture link.

Question - is/was the fai style CLG a "round" type schedule
and if so what was the number of rounds per day and length of time
per round.

best wishes, john s.

Hi John,
The unofficial "FAI Style" CLG is 7 rounds, 45mins long (flown with the mini events) 90sec max. No one has yet to max out.

Thanks for the explanation.
This is a great idea - it looks like a see-saw type event where if you don't max
out the first or second time, just stick with it the very end as one still has a chance to place well.

2nd and 3rd places must have had a lot of fun watching each others results as with 4th and 5th

Best wishes, john s.
