2012 SOCAL International DS Week
I have just booked flights to Los Angeles arriving Sun 1st April and leaving Sun 22nd April 2012. I was thinking of keeping this under my hat, because there's a good chance I'll have to cancel if work commitments take over. I booked using points (Miles) which is great because there's very little penalty if I have to cancel. But I decided to announce my intentions it because I hope like heck it does come off, and it might help to kick off another International DS Week. If I re-watch my videos of the last one I am still pinching myself to believe that I was actually there!

I hope it works out for me going... if so, I'll have my new video camera and hope to take over 2 or 3 seriously beefed up Timbuckerized homebrew Scratchos to offer up as sacrifices to the Weldon Wind Gods! I hope we get an Aussie contingent again, but even if no other Aussies go, I'm sure there will be some interesting guys from other countries, and now that I know how to get around I'm sure I'll have an interesting time! Last time I went over with no expectations at all and it was a totally excellent experience, so I intend to approach it the same way this time!

Right time for me to start saving!

Ha Alex now that would be great! Just gotta perform some secret psychological manipulation tricks on Ezza to persuade him to come. Remember we must let him think it was his own idea ...

Be great to meet you there Stu and see some of those JW covering masterpieces in the flesh.

Glad you're planning it Nick!

Jarred does this mean you might make the trip down from Vancouver?

Patrick, we need you there so you can do the wind dance again.

#11 AvB Dec 17, 2011 03:46 PM

Yay Patrick!! You were the movie star in my "Explanation of DS" video.
DS Explanation (7 min 52 sec)

I've been thinking of ideas on how to make a better one. Now that we're getting an idea of who might be there I'll start thinking about casting ... there are plenty of good choices but it's pretty hard to imagine a more photogenic movie star than Patrick. He's even called DS Diva! Now Astan was very photogenic ... he'd be perfect ...

Hey if we're going to try for another "DS Week", do you guys wanna aim for it to be the week following Sat 7th April?

#12 Sean Moloney Dec 17, 2011 07:51 PM

Have fun over there guys, I definitely can't make it this year.

#13 AvB Dec 17, 2011 08:30 PM

You'll be missed Sean. Maybe I could hire the old Deepend off you (just kidding!)

#14 airtimeasto Dec 17, 2011 08:51 PM

Yea I definetly won't make this year.
