NEW Pioneer Electric Flying Wing 2450mm/ Now being sold though Nitroplanes

I am testing a new Motor powered flying wing from X-UAV. Here are the specs of the plane.

Wingspan: 2450mm
Drive System: 3536-KV1000 Outrunner Brushless motor
ESC:40A Brushless speed controller
Servo:5 9g high speed micro servos
Propeller: 2-Paddle (scale flying) pucker Propeller
Battery: 11.1V ,3S 2700mAh 25C Li-polymer
Radio:2.4G (4Tx& 6 Rx)

This plane is a production run aircraft ready for the public. I am not sure of the release date yet or which distributors will carry this but as soon as the manufacturer lets me know I will share it with you all here.

It came in a very large box and came shipped very well. Here are a few pics of what the plane looks like. Its also got a spar in both wings that go from one end to about the tip of the wing and I would call the inner tube spar because theres another tube spar thats aliitle bigger which slides over that inner tube that slides through the fuse and attaches the 2 wings together. Have to get some pics of how that works.

Please suggest to the manufacturers that they could lower their cost of production by eliminating the "graphics" and paint job and letting the modelers come up with their own markings and paint schemes.

Ya but I doubt that they will do that

It looks more like vandalism than "art" to my eye. I'm sure the person who did this fancies himself an "artist". I don't have anything nice to say about his work.

I have followed Marske's work for years and will get one of these. My first mod will be to remove the black stuff and paint the canopy silver, since our Texas 117 degree summers quickly destroy anything black. I'll be making mine a white airplane with some hi-viz trim.

I second the Thumbs down re graphics.

MUST HAVE SOON !

Also want to do Aero Tow with it !

I starting putting it together and found some flaws like the motor having left thrust but that was taking care of with washers. The control horns are glued in with some type of contact cement which didnt hold very well. Took them off and reglue them. I ran the motor up on it and sure has alot of power using a Sky Lipo 40c 3s 2650. So with that I will get it all ready for flight and do the maiden maybe this Sunday if it dont rain. There is one other thing I found is it has a center wheel but no skids for the wing tips. May have to make some

They do make it in white also with the funky tattoo graphics

The Tire looks like the one I got on my 4 meter DG808 from another place.
If so, it's too weak. My tire just disintegrated so I had to do surgery to replace it.

These Chinese places need to understand that we dont necessarily need the lowest price
if for a few cent more we could have a bit more quality.

PLease LOOSE those graphics or make it an option.

Most Glider guys are older and we are a pretty small segment of hte RC community.
This being a Scale model it needs to be more conservative. IMHO.

No reply form an e-mail that I sent them yet

It's like a cook making a wonderful recipe and getting it to perfection. Unfortunately, he doesn't know when to stop and adds one more ingredient that doesn't belong there and ruins the whole dish.

It is like Mr. GWS creating the first foamy A-10 kit and putting those awful plastic spiral wheels on it. At least that could be fixed without too much effort.

White is good. Yellow is good. The funky graphics guy can do that to his own airplane, but we would really appreciate it if he wasn't allowed to do that to all of them.

Well for you guys I will let them know if they can keep the graphics off but I cant promise anything.

Twiz,

Thanks for acting on our behalf. I hope your review experience has good flights and uneventful landings.
