Slope Soaring

2 Attachment(s)
For the first time I tried some slope soaring and flew the parkzone t-28 today for over an hour at Frankfort, KY. The winds were of the of the south at 20mph gusting to 35mph. I powered up at the launch and a couple times playing around, but the motor was shut off at least 59 minutes of the flight. Afterward the 3s 2200mAh pack was still 4.05v per cell for a total voltage of 12.15v! Next time I'll go for 2 hours.

It was a blast and I'm hooked now. It would have not been possible without the help from friends/members of the Louisville Area Soaring Society :D

1 hr!?! with a trojan? WOW....

So did you activate the brake on the prop or did you allow it to free spin?

It was actually free spinning. When I could see the prop slow down then I knew I was in some dead air. But it would be better with the brake on and a better warbird that had a sleek nose like a p-51 or a spitfire. :D
