Polaris "Rudderless DLG"

Well the Polaris came last night in a well packed box. I wanted to thank Bruce for getting this plane in the mail so fast, it was packed and sent the same day he received them from Sweden. It was packed so well that I could not find the hardware package, a quick text to Bruce and found that it was taped to the side of the box.
The craftsmanship is second to none, and the finish is great. I am very impressed with the new fuse. I had the Sirius and loved the way it flew but kept breaking the fuse between the wing bolts. I spoke to Jonas at The Bruce and he told me that they had made a few changes in that area an not to worry if I were to get a Polaris. I took is word and made the purchase.
I plan to build this model as it was intended "Rudderless" I have never flown a rudderless plane but was impressed by how they performed earlier this year at The Bruce. I also plan to use a pull string on the elevator, I normally use pushrods .025" but again I want to try some new things. On to the build!

I will be using my normal gear in this plane which includes.

Wing: Hyperion HP-DS09-SCD
Elevator: JR DS285 with 40 lb Spectra pull line
Receiver: ATX RX-631/92164 6 channel
Battery: Rhino 360 Lipo
Regulator: Paul Daniels
Launch Peg: My own "Carbon"

I hope you enjoy the build this should be a good time. Here are a few pics to get you drooling.

i think you should wait to display till after Blue skies. We don't want any AZ DLG Bowl secrets out quite yet do we.

Rudderless? Sounds like a defective kit! You should send it to me! :D

The like the fact that time was taken to include the rudder cut out in the molding process. It was very simple to take a x-acto knife and scribe the line then remove. The rudder fit just as it should although I like to go deeper into the boom but I'm going to stay with the stock build. Was also able to get the elevator horn installed, used CA and microballoons to stiffen around the horn. I was impressed with how strong the spring is, overall I am happy with how it turned out. I included a few pics with the plane together just so you can see how she looks.

I like how the Elevator control horn is notched, not a hole.

It's after 5pm in AZ so where's that flight report Donnie ??

Is it a good replacement for that Twister I've got ??

Good luck with it
