MX400 Himoto Racing 1/4 scale Dirt Bike details

Saw a pic of the bike from last Germany Toy Fair. I ran across a link and decided to see progress. Looks like it will come out in a brushed and brushless version MX400 & MX400BL. Pretty much a M5 / DX450 clone but in 1/4 scale, with a few changes in the frame (motor below swingarm pivot), and the gyro is sort of a cross between the vmx & m5/dx450 without removeable weights. It will use same lexan rider and be as heavy as the ARX.

The spare parts lists at Himoto and at USA distributor NitroRCX.com both show a 45A brushless esc and a 3650KV 550 motor. Maybe you can find a brushless system combo from hobbyking or your favorite shop that is similar. Here is where I got the info from:

and this one..

I have the Himoto racing brusless and the bike is very good .....except the mechanic gyro that is very bad , i can't use the bike correctly with it .

I upgrade it with a Skyrc gyro and now that is good !

Explain how you did that? Did you replace entire rear wheel of himoto with the skyrc wheel, or did you fit the skyrc gyro inside the himoto wheel? Pictures too if you have them. :)

Ok I will show you pictures soon :-)

I replace the entire rear wheel with gyro from the SKYRC one .
I have to fix the two metal electric wire inside each side of the rear swing arm to make the gyo work .

The place for the Lipo is not good enought as the SkyRC to put the battery correctly .
I need to make hole inside for the Lipo wire .

Interesting. Yeah post pics when you get the wires to gyro all figured out.

So the skyrc wheel and rear sprocket line up perfectly for front sprocket (same width as himoto wheel/rear sprocket)?

As you can see all goes correctly .

I think the SkyRc is an evolution of the Himoto racing as many parts goes on the SkyRC .
For some friends i order and change the Front fort of the SkyRc SR4 by the Front fork Himotoracing more strong but without oil inside .

Actually nobody brake the HMX400 front fork since 5 months...

Nice work velocity.where did you mount the gyro board and in what protection?

#10 Helicoy Jan 22, 2015 04:00 PM

I mount the Gyro board in the same place as the SkyRC under the seat !

I order the back seat from SkyRc to have the space to install the Gyro mount .

Is it working yet Helicoy? One thing that always looked odd on the mx400 was how huge the front wheel looked compared to the rear wheel. Did switching to the sr4 rear wheel on the mx400 make that look better? Is the mx400 front wheel same size as sr4 front wheel?

Go run a few batteries through it on the street, you'll soon have slicks. ;):D:eek:
If you did want to pay for slick tyres to start with AR Racing makes a rear that'll fit and they make a front but it will probably be too wide for that rim. You'd need a ARX or Phantom front rim and I'm not sure on clearance between the fork legs.
