Any Info on: HK-5320 Ultra-Micro Digital Servo 1.7g

1 Attachment(s)
Just saw Hobby King listing this servo: HK-5320 Ultra-Micro Digital Servo 1.7g
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...c_0_075kg.html

Anyone have any information on it (looks like a brand new listing so maybe no one has actually gotten one yet)? Listed as 1.7 gms which would be mighty light for a cased servo (but we all know about HK's weight listings - anyone have the real weight?).

Torque looks pretty low, but not suprising given the weight and the fact it is a 1S servo only.

I ordered two yesterday, but will be changing out the wires and stuff so won't be able to comment on it for a while. I also want to color them black. What might be my best bet for doing this?

Thanks for the response. Can you weigh them when they arrive (before you start your surgery)? As for coloring them black, I would try a black Sharpie pen (I've turned GWS orange props black with them with no discernable weight gain.).

Will do and thanks for the tip.

Just got some of these and they weigh in right at 1.7 grams on my triple beam.

Man, are these things tiny!

Wow you got yours fast.

JCHarrist,

Looks promising as far as weight and size (definitely smaller than the 2.5gm servo).

Have you had a chance to hook it to a Rx yet and test it out? Interested in knowing how well they work (speed, torque, jitter, reproducible positioning, etc.).

Don't suppose you know what's inside yet (motor size smaller than 4mm?, does it use a potentiometer or something else like a hall sensor?, how many gears from motor pinion to output gear).

I've ordered two of these and they shipped today so hopefully they will show up reasonable soon and work well.

Just got one hooked up and I must say I'm impressed. No jitter whatsoever and excellent centering and repeatability. The speed is faster than I can move my sticks. Not a ton of torque, but should be more than sufficient for most ultra micro size aircraft.

I haven't taken one apart yet to inspect the internals and probably won't unless I have an issue with one.

That is great to hear. I'll be the dumby to take one apart when I get it. My cousin is a photographer so I can get hi-def pics of everything for you all.

For what it's worth,I just bench tested one on a 2S lipo with a 5V BEC and it seems to handle it fine.

I got mines. I open one up to get some pics...later because I do not have a screwdriver on hand...

They really are tiny.

EDIT:

They are NOT ar6400 compatible.

Then they must be micro Futaba/Walkera (same as HK-282, 2.2 gram). Would be great if HK learned to give their stuff accurate description:rolleyes:

I could have sworn they said it had ar6400 compatible plugs. Was I just seeing what I wanted to see?

It isn't there now.

Pics!!!! :)

Give me a second. These won't be the high def pics though. Not really much to see as I forgot my screwdriver.

EDIT: I have to go, but I'll be back in about two and a half hours.
