48 RGB-LEDs in the Blade.
We can load Image from the PC

can you provide a link from where you bought this?

#7 BOcnc Jul 05, 2011 11:28 AM

I have developed the electronics. I can not find any manufacturer of the blades.
Sorry. Only homemade

regards Werner

How did you build the electronics?

#9 BOcnc Jul 05, 2011 03:12 PM

Sorry my english is very bad.

There are 48 RGB LEDs and LED driver in the blades. The control is a 80 MHz PIC32 with Micro SD Card. The Image are load with USB from a PC.

GREAT project, my hats off to you. Do you have any plans to produce these, even as a kit for someone to buy and install on their own blades?

#11 BOcnc Jul 07, 2011 12:46 AM

I think it's too expensive.
It is also difficult to incorporate it into the blades

#12 CoolBudz Jul 07, 2011 11:40 AM

Im more inclined at how you did it but I still don't understand:confused:

I remember seeing something like this back on some Arduino forums.

Adafruit has a kit. It's not as advanced and as colorful as the OP's post, but will handle basic shapes and whatnot.

I'm sure it could be adapted to a helicopter blade, and with some additional programming more than one color of LED.

Adafruit also has a bunch of other neat Arduino DIY kits as well.
