OK... here's how I'm gonna handle it this year. "Wow, the BAD looks like it will be fun. Too bad I can't attend this year. I have plans to have the usual work schedule snafus, unforseen disasters and such interfere with this sort of fun, as usual.."

The schedule FUBAR gremlins are satisfied and gone, right?:p

I'll try to sneak over when they aren't looking :D

I think thats the way to go this year. Instead of planning on coming just tell everyone you can't make it, tell work you're available for some flights that weekend, and/or plan to do a lot of jobs around the house, and/or plan to do something with the family or all of the above, and when all that falls through come on down and spend the weekend here in the Bay Area and have fun.
Hope you can make it this year.

Hey, Eddie,

Show up if you can, we won't make a spot for you this year.....but secretly, I hope you can make it.

And Kern,

You ARE coming?

Going to try to make it to both events this year. Had a conflict with Half Moon Bay on sat last year so only made it to D Mtn on sun.
Hope Ed can make it this year and if he does hope he brings his Convair 580 and his F8F Bearcat (hint, hint). Even if he doesn't fly the Convair it would be great for some of the local flyers to see what great scale, scratch building is all about. Seen his Bearcat fly up in Reno with KANs, but would love to see it perform with the Thunderpower cells he recently put in it.

I hope to make it to both events this year. I just painted my Dr1 red (It was blue and white) in preperation for my further fights with Snoopy at Devil Mt. Not sure what I will fly at Half Moon Bay.
I have posted information about where and when and how to find both events in our monthly newsletter for September which will go to print in a week and a half.

4 more weekends to get some planes ready for the Bay Area Duo events.

Naaah Kern, you know all my scale scams. It's just a bunch of free Taco Bell straws painted to look like $150 dollar retracts and lots of faux paint and faded panel lines ;) Nothin' of real genius to be sure :D

I can make Devil Mountain for sure!

Eddie, you better come by the Hobby Shop when you are down!

Fred,

What? Afraid of crossing the bridges?

There is no sharks in the water!!

Eddie
You and I know your Convair is made out of Taco Bell straws and plastic cups, but if you don't let anyone get to close they won't be able to tell.
Fred
What you need to do is get the hobby shop to send you to the Sat events as a Rep for them. That would be a win win situation for both of you. You would get to go to the events that conflict with your sat at the shop and they would get all kinds of promo time. Set up a table, hand out some T shirts, donate a few prizes, etc; Worth a try anyway.

I've been too busy lately to build anything new but will be at both events this year. Snoopy and the Beaver will see you there! :D

Is camping allowed in at the Half Moon Bay site? We have an RV, and we were wondering if we could come on friday night and camp overnight.

Brian,

There is no camping facility on site, plus access road to the area from Hwy 1(just pass the parking lot of Cameron Pub) has a gate that get locked in the evening by the Half Moon Bay police and open by 7am or so daily. There are some state beaches down the road on Hwy 1 with camping possibility.

How big is your RV? The field is not that big, when it is full of cars it is hard to manuver it.
