        Discussion Syma S105

Syma S105

Or not. It's got "Digitech" written on the box where Syma would otherwise appear, but the packaging is otherwise identical. The heli is identical to the S107 in looks, except it has a round charger input and no little hole in the canopy above the battery.

It's probably the individual heli, but this S105 flies like a butterfly on methamphetamine, and the trim is absurdly sensitive. So much so that the heli is in rotation in one direction or the other regardless of how tenderly you try to adjust the trim. It's very different to the forgiving nature of my S107.

Anyone else been playing with the S105? Or perhaps has a solution to the sensitivities I am experiencing with trim?

You are totally spot on regarding the trim. I own a S105 before I got my S107. The best way to fight it is with forward flight. Once you start flying forward, trim is easier to sort out. Other than that, it will require a lot of correction on the rudder to do a steady hover.

Cheers TFM, glad it's not just my heli. At least it makes flying the S107 feel like a breeze. The S105 is a lot faster than the stock R5 S107. I quite like the S105 despite it's touchy disposition.

Well I think flying the S107 is close to boring after flying other heli like the Phantom 6010, JXD 335 and the UDI 802.

I agree that there are times when I will just fly the S105 instead of the S107. Sometimes the fun lies in being able to control the heli the way you want it to, minus fanciful electronics to lock on the heading.
