Clear View Net Play Roster

Guys this thread is for anyone interested in linking up with other forum members on clear view net play

if you have been following the wish list thread then you know what I am talking about if not go to this link

as members subscribe to the thread by posting a message I will add their user name to the subscribed user list.
Please use your RCGroups user name as your Net Play Log In Code (Net Record screen name), this way the guy's on the other end know who they are flying with.

Anyone planning to use Net Play post a message here that you are logging on to Net Play, and which site you are flying. (a good way for other pilots to identify each other is to post which air plane you will be flying) This will notify other subscribed users by instant Email notification.

How to initiate Net Play in CV
1. select Net Play then select Start Net Recording, type in your User ID and press OK
2. re select Net Play then select start net play, select the pilot you wish to fly with and press OK.
you can choose multiple pilots by re opening net play and selecting another pilot user name and pressing OK
NOTE:the C key toggles views from each plane to your plane so if you take off and your plane flies out of the frame where you cant see it press the letter "c" on your key pad.
Another feature of CV that is not Net Play specific: When you select a flying site but don't like the starting position of your aircraft you can position your plane to the location you like to take off from and press the letter "I" this will permanently reset the start location of your aircraft

I am all day arouunt the computer on Dec. 10, just PM me here and I will start model for netplay on my side.

Note: NetPlay leaves your landscape whatever it is. So let say, Player-A to flies in Osage Park, and Player-B flies on Farm Field. When Player-B net-replay Player-A, he will see the Player-A model flying in his Farm Field, even while Player-A actually flies the model in Osage Park.

For that reason, I suggest when we NetPlay, we all fly in Tangamanga SLP.

Please start ClearView, load Tangamanga SLP, then select "NetPlay" then "Start NetRecording" and enter your userid, then click OK.
To see me, select "NetPlay" then "Start NetPlay" and select skirtz - that is me.

Skirtz, I'm assuming the guy in the Zero was you. I was experiencing some weirdness in the net play but then I realized my DSL connection was dropping out on me so that problem was on my end. One thing that did happen when I tried to switch planes in the session it put me in the other pilots view.

A way to communicate with the other pilot would be cool!

#11 skirtz Dec 10, 2010 08:00 PM

The Zero is a recording of a flight and not a real person. I created it so there is at least 1 person (in this case record of a person) that is always online. Flying with a real person should be the same. The NetPlay should work with cable access and fast DSL. On slower DSL, the experience may vary. If there is interest, I will add more features, for now I want to see if this is usefull at all.

anyone online tonight?

#13 SagebrushRebel Dec 10, 2010 10:18 PM

I'm online now Tangamanga field 9:18 PM MST

Note:

Please do not use user id with spaces!!! It will not work. No one can connect to you.

Correct user id:
foam-head-mike
Bad user id:
foam head mike - will not work, has spaces in the id.

I will fix that in the next version but for now just use simpler userids.

OK I was wondering why it seemed not to be working correctly
how about we just use our RC Groups user name? that way everyone knows who everyone else is. My user Id will be RogueTitan.

I will post the names of everyone subscribed to this thread in the first post and will assume they are subscribed to the CV Net Play.
I will add to the list as others subscribe.
