Has anyone used Hobby-Wing.com?
 
I was looking at purchasing a Tarot 450Pro through hobby-wing.com, but wanted to see if anyone had experiences with them (good or bad).

I don't like the fact that you can't see shipping price until well into checkout, but it looked like they don't "HobbyKing" you on the shipping.

Just Curious.

Well, I took the plunge and placed my order through hobby-wing.com . It seems to have shipped the same day I ordered, and is stateside (NY intl. airport) less than 4 business days later. I chose EMS worldwide 4-7 day shipping at checkout. I will post more when I receive and inspect the package.

Follow up: 6 days total shipping time, all items well packaged and secured, including additional styrofoam padding. Canopies arrived without stress cracks in the fiberglass, and all parts and spares arrived in good shape.

Hobby-wing.com sent order confirmation email, and shipping confirmation email with tracking links that actually worked.

I am happy with my order through hobby-wing.com so far. I haven't done the build yet, but I am sure that any manufacturing problems would be due to Tarot, and not the vendor. If any problems crop up that I have to contact hobby-wing about, I'll post again.

5 Month follow up
 
I have purchased and flown the 450Pro Tarot model from Hobby-Wing.com. I have also compared it to the actual model. I can ascertain no differences other than silk-screen printing on parts with the "Tarot" name vs. "Align". Even the box looked good (full color rather that white OEM type). I've had no problems, so I cannot comment on customer service.


I have used another website, AC-RC.com, to order the Tarot flybarless head for both the 450Pro and 500. They look much better than other flybarless head offerings for other clones. Plus, they had a reasonably-priced torque tube conversion kit for the 450 Sport. For each order, they've shipped quickly, and have even refunded "unused shipping charge to be honest."


At least for my TREx based birds, if I don't need to run to the hobby store right away, I will use hobby-wing.com and ac-rc.com .

i ordered from them shipping was a mess 2 week to get here
was packed ok but everyone one else was offering free shipping
at the time just so happened that they had what i wanted so i had
to go with them. not real sure if id use them again unless i needed
something they have that i cant get anywahere else. also instruction
are non-exsisting. the price was fair on the quad and Amy was responsive
on emails but thats about all i can say good and the live service
know the item number u want or be perpaired for unknowlegable
product specialist who doesnt know what they sell... #6
