This heli with 2801pro is available now

Just a heads up: Rc711 have the 4F200 currently listed with the 2801 TX for US$359.90.

Terence at ChineseJade should have them very soon as well. Also looks like he'll have the bind'n'fly version too.

For those of us here in Aus, it may be a better option...

*Just transplanting an unwelcomed post that I unwittingly posted in a vendor's thread. I hope I have not made that same mistake again...

I received the info about 4f200 with 2801pro rtf combo from rc711 in HongKong.
This combo is in stock now at the shop.
I asked following question to them.

*************************************************
about 4f200 with 2801pro rtf combo

1) Can I bind 4f200 with 2801 mode of 2801pro?
2) Can I use all programable function on 2801pro such as throttle curve, pitch curve and d/r & exp etc with rx2612v(4f200 receiver)?
*************************************************

And they gave me the answer.

*************************************************
Yes, the default setting in 280Pro is 2801, not 2601.

And the curve functions are also available to edit.

That 2801 package looks pretty good at only an extra $30 for the 2801tx. The thing I find a little odd though is that the 4F200 reportedly ships with a 2601tx, and then I read this post http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...20&postcount=7 that reports supplier as quoting that the 4F200 is native to the 2801?

Has anybody flown one of these yet. Im interested in how it handles from a home hobby pilots point of view, or review. Im also interested to know whether its going to be another "balance the ball on a piece of glass" type of CP heli or more well behaved FP to CP transition type. Ive got a few CP heli's already that I still enjoy, but they involve much concentration, a lot of anticipation, no room for error, much sweating, and often they are flying me, rather than me flying them, in that my CP flight consists of me counteracting where the aircraft intends to go if theres any breeze at all. I dont crash them very often, but I would like a CP heli that has the fun factor of the CB180 or Ufly type FP heli's. That Xheli review guy makes them all look easy, but like a lot of people here i dont have anywhere near his skill set. The servo linkages between my brain and my hands is the problem, perhaps there is a tooth missing ;)

If you find a CP like that let me know. I currently have a 4G6 and I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Every time I think I'm getting better I do something stupid, it gets away from me and costs $20 to fix.

myrcmart have it with the 2801 TX for $330 + shipping. Seems to be one of the best prices ATM.

I should have one of the few sample helis in my hands today for some test flights. It is rumored that this heli Rx is 2801 mode compatible. We shall see...:D:D:D

Okay guys here is my initial flight test results. Only one word to describe it...AWESOME!!! The heli is super stable in hover and has no bad tendencies. Fast forward flight was even more impressive. My test flight was done in 5mph winds and it didn't matter. It just flew. The best part is the new Rx is fully 2801 mode compatible!!! All curves and throttle hold work. Amazing. This has got to be one of best flying Walkera helis I have to date. :D

The head and tail assy are all metal and very nicely finished. The CF main blades were well balanced out of the box and there was no vibration in spin up. The tail has a smooth action and held solid even with a full pitch climbout. Nice. I ran it at 100% throttle and the 3 axis gyro held strong and showed no signs of high HS sensitivity.

Special thanks to John at www.RChobbyhelicopter.com for getting me this heli to test.

All I can say is order one, you're not going to regret it. LOL.

I will post a flight vid soon.
