Aerial Videography (900Mhz vs 1.3Ghz vs 2.4Gh
900MHz, 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz..1.3GHz.. etc. I wanted to know what is the benefits and cons of each frequency. Is there any range improvements or quality improvements ..stability benefits of using one frequency over another?
A lot of computer mice or laptop wireless cards use 2.4GHz along with other electronic equipment that might be nearby. Would those interfere with the ever so common 2.4GHz video feed? What good does a 5.8GHz have over a 2.4GHz?
From the limited amount I know the higher the frequency the better the image can be. The downside is the higher the frequency the more "line of sight" it becomes so you can lose the signal easier. I have a 900mhz setup at only 100mw. I have yet to lose a signal. I have flown with it about as far away as I care to and still see the plane. I don't FPV and don't plan to record the signal from the downlink. I am recording onboard the plane and using the downlink for reference and to line things up.
Again, I'm not 100% sure on my facts above regarding the frequencies. I'm sure someone will respond that knows it better than I do.
