Great Planes Evader

I guess they are showing these at Florida Jets right now. Any feedback from guys down there? What's the price?

I like the shape. I like the fiberglass fuse. I'm not too keen on the cheater hole. It doesn't look like retracts are an option.

This is sweet, does it use its old 53mm fan unit or a newer bigger one as it requires 4 cell?

#3 Bajora Mar 06, 2010 08:34 AM

It would appear is uses the same 56mm Hyperflow fan already available from Electrifly? But they are using a hotter 24mm motor, with a Kv of 3790. Here are some specs for that combo:

Optional Brushless Motor 24-45-3790
# LiPo Voltage Current Power Static RPM Efflux Speed
Cells Thrust miles/hour

3 11.1V 19.9A 221W 15.9oz 38,600 135.89~
4 14.8V 32.6A 482W 25.4oz 48,000 217.73~

The foornote to the tilde at the end of the efflux numbers says it is a calculated value

Here is a link to the manual:

The intro says they have clocked it at 105 MPH right out of the box!

looks pretty cool. I don't mind the "cheater" holes :) (sigh) I guess I'll be buying one. :)

All the pictures suggest it has ailerons. I do like the overall Viper/Bandit look! The cheater hole is definitely there but aleast they didn't try to hide it.

Looks pretty sweet! Maybe if enough of us get them we can convince AS to make some ducts? I'm sure with that huge cheater covered you'll get more speed.

I'll be running a dons wicked 4800 on 4S in mine :)

Anyone know if a 70mm can be crammed in there?

Just looked at the manual...guess not.

Just got back from Florida Jets. Got to see the Evader up close at their booth and when they did their demo flight. It is a good looking plane, and yes it
does have the 'Viper' look going for it. It looked very good in flight and appeared to be quite fast.
(Compared to watching turbine jets streak by at close to 200mph most of the day.)
I'm definitely considering the plane.

Yes, I saw it fly during the noon time demo. The winds were just down a hair and this little thing did fly solid. They said that the street price will be around $179. Yes, it does have that nasty little cheater hole, so start your four point rolls, rolling right....problem solved:rolleyes: It had a radar gun on it yesterday, and it was just over 100 mph. (103-105)

#11 Bajora Mar 06, 2010 10:28 PM

Did you see the beginning of any of their flights? Did they bungee or hand launch?

#12 phoneguy Mar 06, 2010 10:43 PM

Hand launch, A pretty good launch from what I saw, not quite throwing the arm out of the socket, but not lobbing a softball either.

Why would you design a sport model with a cheater hole?
