New Stuff ,lights and making them look pretty

I am sold on this new stuff, but the finish over foam on a naked plane is not so pretty. Here is something new I just tried, and it worked great! I have been using 5mil new stuff and sandwiching my econokote, ultrakote stripes between the two layers of 5mil. This time,I picked up some wrapping paper from the 99 cent store, sprayed the back of my stripes with 3m77 and applied. Sandwiched the stripes between the layers, and presto. The wrapping paper stripes are very reflective in the sun. The visibility is awesome!

Lets pretty up those ugly slopers!

Looks good. What's it weigh?

I did the same thing and it was easy to see, I tend to route my antenna along the sub TE and in this case I found the metallic wrapping paper badly effected the range. The antenna ended up dangling out the back. Shouldn't be a problem on your partial covering even if the wire is inside the wing but suggest you double check on your range test.

What kind of strip lights have you used along your leading edge (they look great)?

I have been using that exact film from Dollar Tree and 3M77 on my fishing lewers. It's amazing how long it lasts in salt water. On my wing, I have added some CD pieces for bling.

Hi Daemon, It's actually a converted ridge runner wing. It's very fast! The strip lights are from Electrafly and the Led's are from an old RAM light system. The AUW with extra battery is 21oz.

I just had a thought !! :) How about using wrapping paper stripes for the DS ships. I heard that the radar scans are more accurate with reflective tape on the wings.

These may do the trick Tony

The same lighting strips are also available on HobbyCity:

$5 for the driver and $3 for each strip.

excellent Idea! I have some 5mil stuff to try, and I have been wondering how to make it look ncier than just over plain foam.

Need the very lightest new stuff possible for the tail on my Nemo DLG.

Who's got a few scraps? Will swap for a few vinyls.

I have some 1.7 mil (42.5 micron) lam film which Laminator Warehouse sent me in error. It's like tissue paper. Don't know if it would be stiff enough for you. Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send you some.

Also Abbo has some really thin stuff that may be better.

I have some 3 mil NS that I would be happy to send you (from canuckengineering).
