Looking through the Play it Again used sporting goods store in Lake Mary Florida I found a Golf Driver that had a carbon/graphite shaft and it was 70% off, so I bought it for 5 bucks! Took the handle off and cut the head off and my mind started to think Pod & Boom! I weighed the boom and it is 51 grams, so out came the pen, drafting table and profili software, here we go!

Call it the 'Driver.'

Sounds cool and fits.

Using phenolic, I traced the outline for the pod to make templates. Cut the wood laminations from 1/8 balsa and 1/8 lite ply. The fuse side are the ply outside and the balsa inside. This is just for rash control.

Here we go with a bit of hollowing and shaping the interior of the pod.

Off to Americus for the Georgia Peach Pattern Classic! See you Monday, have a great weekend, Joser.

Killer, dude! Now I am completely hooked with popcorn and beer at hand. Love the shape of the pod and boom, I have been thinking along these lines also for a while.

Hi Guys, just came back from Ga. I was calling for Humberto, my partner at Advanced Airframes, and he won the Masters class, so it was a good weekend. On the way back we saw a horrible accident, an 18 wheeler careened across the median, broke through the guard rail and collected a few lives in the process. I really feel for those families involved, I was a few mile behind the wreck so we saw the chopper come in and pick up the injured. Wheeeew.
I will resume the process on the build this week. Later, Joser.
