Thx mate,

I sold this model (due to money problems) unfinished to a local modeller who is a Tug fan and was under the impression he would finish her. Instead he pulled out all her motors and electronics, used one of her kort nozzle props and has been trying to sell her for same price I sold it to him minus the electronics, 1 prop and possibly no motors. I had intended to buy her back if I had the cash but that was before I found out what he has done to it!!

Gonna get a hull from SouthernCross models and do new build....

HeavyCruser9 Got the mast 90% completed, just need to decide how many LEDS (and what colour) are going to go on it!! Might keep it simple a just have the standard running lights on mast illuminated.....maybe

I used some PE ladder & safety cage from Walthers HO range to dress up the back of the upper mast a little too.

I had her in the water last week (First time since Nov..) for a brief run but I need a new main battery the second hand one I was using won't hold a charge now.

Was the Galatea featured in Model Boat mag awhile back name sounds familiar??

Cheers Bruce
Yeah Bruce it was in a recent Model boat mag, if I get some of my other projects done I would like to build it as a cross between this and the pacific responder to turn it into an ocean salvage tug that looks like the one described in "Wilbur Smith's" book "Hungry as the Sea"

capterik Thats funny, I've run into the same kinda thing on the US rivers, towboat operators won't even talk to you on the radio, if you call them tug...it has to be towboat, which I really do not understand, since they push, and do not tow.

You know the Masters on the real vessels would take umbridge at the term tug. They would prefer Anchor Handling, Emergency Towing, or Re-Supply, Vessel .....

I am currently in Norway, just left Stavanger where there were some pretty impressive Re Supply vessels moored. No camera I'm afarid, so no good shots.

HeavyCruser9 Thanks Mate,
The Tiger yellow really grows on you! Once the mast, railings and cranes go on She should look alright. got to get some brass lettering for her name too...
I just got back from Wagga Wagga late last night. Had some fun running LB and Titan over there got some good pix of both running Amok....Well LB ran amok the tug just cruised about! admittedly at a slightly faster than scale speed when she's flat out. I will re size some pix shortly and post em!

Cheers Bruce
