Quiet, peaceful and light breezes. Its really nice when you can fly in warm weather and decent conditions.

Ive flown various power set ups in it for indoor and outdoor flying and its a fun plane. Looking forward to the kit version release of the slicko 2.
Went to the local rc track and brought a few planes to fly.. much nicer than dealing with freezing temps and high winds.
This was my first flight with the slicko v2 proto from rcplanebuilder last year. Looking forward to flying the kit version when they become available.
Here is a video from RCPlaneBuilder.com
of the kit version with graphics....Continue Reading
I got started with rc planes at a really good time. Brushless power and lipos had recently changed the performance of electric flight,3D flying was easily made possible with electric planes,FPV and Photos from the sky with rc planes and a lot of other cool things like 2.4ghz radios were starting to become the norm. Early on like many I had an interest in seeing things from the planes point of view. I even purchased a inexpensive lap top just to record video from one of the early fpv type cams that was out at the time to use as a ground station. I use to enjoy seeing the photos and video from the plane once I got back from flying. So now fast forward 5 years.. power systems, lipos, planes, cameras and every thing else in the hobby has improved a lot. One of the biggest things now and especially for fpv and photography is quad copters. Now is a good time to be in the hobby
Got some new orange props for the mqx. Ive flown some of the new smaller rtf quads, still enjoy the mqx and its large enough to carry small cams.
Got a few flights in this week, maidened the unpainted slicko and tryed some power stuff out in the sbach i cut.

Quick test flight before it got to dark,a bit tight in the yard but still wicked quick on this set up for a epp plane.
Getting back to planes and flew one today, had flown a similar one over the summer but at average weight in the 6oz range with various set ups for power. Flew the lighter one today in the yard(breezy and cold but it went well considering the weather)... once you get a epp plane trimmed be ready to trim a little more when you maiden in the cold... was trimmed neutral to start and by the time i was back inside for a few minutes all the surfaces were out of trim again
. Tryed a couple packs and with common gear its currently 4.9oz or 141g with the current set up. The lightest auw with a lighter pack was just about 4.5oz.. thats very light for a standard size 32'' 3d plane.. most are in the 6oz plus range. Will be doing more stuff for indoor weights and planes over the winter and have more epp and other stuff ordered.
Testing stuff over the summer.
Got a new woodster sct body for the baja, took it easy with that one.. will knock the new off it in the spring when it warms up again. Been mostly running the 5th scales lately but i'll be getting back to planes now that the weather is getting colder. Have enough epp to cut a few planes and some crunchy depron in 3mm that already has a plane i cut over the summer drawn out. Some quick backyard flying and frontroom flying is around the corner while the 5th scale trucks hibernate for the winter.
Been upgrading this one slowly, out of the box its durable.. VERY durable but being larger and a lot heavier than a hpi baja and having 4wd i wanted a bit more power than i was getting from it out of the box stock. Its pretty close to where i want it to be now... a little more power, better steering servo, and some taller gearing to give it a bit more top end would make it just right but its pretty good for now.
Hitting the new dirt and debris pile... its not quite a jump its basically like mulch right now but a bit more rain and some sun and it should pack down a bit. One of these days i need to just build another ramp to set up for the cars.
Having fun with the baja, really digging 5th scale cars lately.
Took off the body and mounts and side guards etc while i tried the 29cc ddm motor in the losi 5ive. Got my new ddm 29cc for the losi and put everything back in the baja and figured id run it a little without the extra 4.5+lbs the body and parts add.Got the body back on now.
Really digging the 5th scale trucks. Would really like to see losi make a 2wd 5th scale based off the 22 sct but super sized like they did with the losi 5ive(considerably lighter though than the 5ive). Having the hpi and losi and having both 2wd and 4wd trucks in 5th scale is nice for real world comparison. Who knows.. maybe losi already has similar things in mind and is testing. I'll probably get another motor for the 5ive,been very happy with the 29cc stuffed crank motor in the baja, really like the throttle response and it seems to have a bit more pep than the 26cc stockers without breaking the bank and should be just right with a tuned pipe for me in the 5ive.
Got a quick flight in with the slicko.
Running the 5th scales... need to find a spot with a bigger jump.
Went to another demo at the cruisin nights car show in westmont. Ran a couple 5th scales and the 8th scale brushless truggy, epp planes always seem to be popular with the spectators so brought the slicko with to. Talk to quite a few people usually that are not aware of hobby grade rc cars/planes/helis etc but have seen the tiny co-axial helis at the mall etc. Always interesting to hear what people say or ask but i mostly get asked about the planes when i go to events.
