Maiden of my Big Nutz
Well, I got a couple of videos of my Big Nutz tonight. Flew excellent!!! I think I will back the CG up from 12" to 13". Should be better then. Man that 10x8 nitro prop sounds viscous! Now I just need a bigger motor that can actually handle it. Any suggestions for a motor that will spin a 10x8 or 11x8 nitro prop at under 40 amps?
As for the videos, once I figure out how to edit quicktime crap I will be able to make the files a little smaller. I use "Movie Maker" and it wont import quicktime from my wifes camera. Any help on this? Anyone?
Anyway, enjoy.

Its done, except for prettying it up some and flying. Sooo, were going out to test fly it in a few minutes. Test glides in the back yard seem perfect, so all should be right with the world!

My latest build... an 76" wing "Big Nutz". Hope to have it done tonight. It has LEDs in it on top, bottom, front and back. Then I put some whistles my wife got me into the wings (whistles not shown). More to follow

Well, here is my first flat plate 3D type foamy that 9LIVES1968 gave me. First couple flights were pretty cool. I never thought this type of plane would fly so well. Had lots of fun with it, until I was inverted over the neighbors house, the motor cut off because the battery was getting low. I lowered the throttle to reset it, and when I increased power again it slammed nose first into the roof of a carport. Dont think its too fixable this time.
Added landing gear and a pilot to the Corsair. Still flys beautifully. Nice little plane just to float around with.
Over-powered by a 400XT and modified to ailerons and elevator, hope to fly it later today. Thanks to my little buddy Kameron for helping with the color, and to my niece Ryann for modeling it.
Heres my wifes Twinstar II I just built her. It the replacement for her Easy Star that the ground reached up and grabbed. This one is powered by a 3S 3200, two BP-21s, with Master Airscrew 8x4 props, 2 - 18A Dynam controllers.
We still have some paint work to be done on it, but its getting there.
Did the maiden for her today. Very nice flyer. Plenty of power. She will do fine with it.

Well, here it is in all its glory. Finished. Just waiting for my buddies to get here so we can go out and maiden it. Hope to get a few speed runs in with the radar gun and hopefully some video and pics of it in the air. Hope you like it.
UPDATE: The mid mount didnt work out so well, so I have now modified it into a pusher motor. Works much better, but it takes a big battery to get it to balance. Speed as a pusher was around 75mph. I'll get some pics up of it eventually.

Here it is, almost ready to fly. Just add control horns, winglets and batteries.
Electronics are mounted. Home made motor mount, elevons and what not. Still have to bury some wires and other things, then start the covering. Its getting there.
Here are some pics of my latest project during the interfacing process. Its a Super Fly that, with any luck, will go over 100mph on 4S lipo and an inrunner. We'll see. More pics will be posted after the covering is on and motor mounted etc...
Well, bad news for me. Had a wing fail in flight on the OS 50 powered Lark X. Needless to say, the flight ended rather soon after the wing decided to part company with the fuse. Heres the carnage. Fixable, just frustrating.
Maiden crashes with the super flea that was donated to us when we were deployed last year. Awesome little plane.
Man, I piled the Tazz hard that day. This video was made during the first week or so I had the Tazz.
Ok the Aerobird video from Iraq is fixed now. Sorry about that, you can watch the entire thing now. Doug cracks me up in this one.
Here is the Tazz with Kristy and a couple pics of it over in Iraq. Thanks to Greg Covey, and all the companies that donated the Tazz and all the related electronics to me while I was in Iraq.
Heres a couple pics of the wifes EZ*. She LOVES them cows, sooooo I figured...
Oh yeah...
Please feel free to comment on anything. Im always interrested in hearing what you all have to say. Especially about the planes I designed/built. If they suck, tell me so! If their cool, tell me so!!
If you want plans... well, sorry, I dont know how nor do I really have time while Im in flight school to do them! I will give you basic dimensions and instructions though. Just ask!

This is my other Lark X with a nitro motor. These things are just a blast to fly!
