Here are some more current pictures guys.

Nothing says "Goodmorning" like hot cup of coffee, a M240 Machine gun mounted to a UH-60 and a full belt of ammo!

Seems like you all enjoy seeing the pics, so I will keep posting them!

I will try to add some pics of "the guys" as we go along sometime.

Hey folks,

If you watch the news or read the papers Im sure you saw the article about the helicopters full of senators etc... that landed on a mountain over here in Afghan. Yeah, it WAS us, 7 of my buddies and myself. Yeah, it sucked, and yeah, it was cold as heck. We were out there for too dang long in the snow, rain, ice, sleet and wind. But, we had CAS (close air support) flying over (F-15s and A-10s) head at nearly all times and they had a live Predator feed going the whole time too (when they could see anyway).

It was pretty hairy at first, but once we were on the ground all was ok. We had about 100 or so locals (freindly? who knows) all around on the mountain tops watching all night. No shots fired, so, we didnt either. Its all good.

Shortly after the landing, we had ground guys (Arizona National Guard) mobilized and on thier way to our location. Now, about the AZ guys... AWESOME is the only word to describe them. I have worked with many active and guard units, and these fellas were TOP NOTCH for sure. Outstanding. The guys stood outside, all night and all day, in the rain, snow, wind etc... Tough as nails, and didnt complain for a second. A huge thank you goes out to those boys for doin what they do best.

So, part of their force took the senators, generals ect... back "home" and the rest stayed with us. Then it was a waiting game for weather to clear. Now, 37 hours after we departed, we are "home".

Good times good times. I have some pics of the area, weather ect... and I'll post them when I can.

New pics! The night before I head for Nashville to fly it, figured I better get some new pics of it posted! Who knows what it will look like when I come home!

Anyway, I think the sponsors decals will make it fly better. Or in this case, make it FLY period!.

Its official, as long as there is no friggin tornado or something tonight/tomorrow, the SRT/10 and I will be heading for Nashville. I'll be taking it out to Edwin Warner Field (Hobby-Lobbys field) and HOPEFULLY flying it this time!!!

Video will come soon after I get home, regardless of what happens.

Lets hope it gets in the air this time.

Here are some pics of the new landing gear and 6" inflatable tires mocked up on the SRT/10. I'll have them securely mounted in short order.

Next flight attempt will be coming up in the next few days! Stay tuned!

Also, we have a little freindly contest going on in the thread... guess how many feet/inches of silver pinstripes on the SRT!

Well, its official. Something is causing this beast to go to the right all the time. It may be a thrust issue, it may be a wheel not spinning free, it may be a million things. What ever it is, I'll find it, and destroy it with extreme prejudice. Then, I'll go fly my dang big aXX airplane!

Here is the video from this past Saturday. Thanks to "LuckyDay" for the great work videoing and editing.

I finally had some time to work on another plane today. so, I put a rudder on the TLAR Delta and painted it too. It does some wierd stuff now. But its a blast to fly slow or fast.

It didnt go so good. A MP transmitting on his radio from his truck basically "locked out" my transmitter signal. Then he sped away with the lights and siren on. Grrrr.... We'll fix the landing gear and it will fly... soon... I promise!!!

Today I went to town and rented a midget who looks just like me to take a picture with one of my wings...

...Yeah right

But really, here it is, in all its "almost finished" glory. You guys wanted a picture where you could see the whole thing, so, you got it.

We got all the electronics wired up, drilled out the props to fit the motors and ran the Atlas motors up on the 10S Max amps packs. We used the APC 18x12 props for the static run up, but for flying it will use counter rotating APC 20x13s. Anyway, it is awesome!!! 5600 watts of power on this thing!

SRT-10 13FT WING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (3 min 12 sec)

Yippeee! The top is done now! I like it. The wife thinks the pin stripes set it off pretty good.

I finally got it to the point that I can start covering it. Acre upon acre or wing area takes some "finesse" to get the covering layed down just right.

Lookin good though, until I ran out of white. So, its on order and will be here in a few days.
