Adrenaline Rush Protective Gear

We are back again this week, but Tim is MIA. No worries, though, as Hance has popped on to take his place for our 183rd show. There's not been a whole lot going on in the workshop lately, but I did get a chance to fly a great little plane that Hance sent (along with another interesting item LoL) and it was quite the handful! Join us for some news on some new offerings as well as some of your letters and links.

HHAEFI 2012

In this, our 182nd installment, the whole crew is in the workshop discussing this and that in the RC world. We talk about some new products and discuss a couple of letters received, but the main topic this week is my synopsis of MY experiences of HHAEFI 2012. If you ever get a chance to attend this event at Hodges Field every October, you've just GOT to attend! In summation, it's like a "kinder, gentler SEFF". LoL

I would like to express my heartfelt THANKS to all of the people that took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday on the 14th, whether through email (David The Swarfer), Skype (David D.), Facebook (WAAAAY too many to list), and at Hodges (the Stahr family, the Georgia Crew, and the rest of you great folks). This was one of the greatest b-day experiences ever and you guys all ROCK!!

One-Eight-One

Well, not a very interesting title this week, but it get's it done. LoL We've got the full gang together this week and we discuss some updates, read a few listener emails, Karl shares some Heli tips, and more of our usual nonsense. Hey - it looks like I am going to HHAEFI!! I hope to see you there!!

Schoolin' The Noobs

It's me and the two Tims this week for our 180th episode, and we catch up on all that we've been up to since our last visit, as well as share a few things we've discovered in the hobby during the last week. We also tackle a subject we've never really talked about - setting up a new-pilot training program at your club (thanks to Doug for writing in on this!).

Quads Across America??

Quads Across America? Well, maybe not, but it doesn't hurt to try, right? LoL Join us in this 179th installment of our show where we get the opportunity to visit with one of the greatest promoters of our hobby in MY lifetime - Mr. Frank "Murocflyer" Geisler! We get a little background on Frank by exploring how it all started for him and discussing his epic Wings Across America project before getting into his latest endeavor of promoting BUILDING your own planes with his new "Model Airplane Building Clinic" over at RCG. This is a show you won't want to miss!

Expo Is For Girls!

Okay, okay, that is actually a direct quote from our special guest this week. LoL Please take no offense, as ol' Crash actually uses expo these days to smooth out some of the shakes. Join us this week for our 178th installment of our little show where we share a scant bit of news, read some great letters sent in from our listeners, and visit with a long-time listener and friend of the show, Mr. Hance Andreason!

We had way too much fun recording this one, and I kinda wished I had left the recorder ON for the post-show discussion. That prolly would have got us all into some trouble, though.

Tons More Tips!

It's Crash, NavionFlyer, and Karl for this 176th show, and this one is almost all about your entries for the SlowBipe RC Hints and Tips contest. Wow! You guys are sending in some great stuff!! We also dip into the old mailbag and do our best to find a solution to a listener's dilemma - he is needing something simple to record his FPV video at his ground station from his Sony 600TVL camera, so if you guys can offer something inexpensive that's better than what we came up with, send me a link and I'll get it to him!

Be sure that you get in on our contest; it's sponsored by our good friends over at SlowBipe.com. All you have to do is email me your favorite RC Tip, or even post it on our Facebook Fan Page. At the end of August, we'll throw all of the entries into a hat and draw the winner. That lucky person wins a MiniBipe kit!!! We've had a ball reading the 45 submissions that we've received thus far!

THIS IS YOUR LAST WEEK TO ENTER!!

Whatnot??

While I think the term "Whatnot" was used only once in this 175th show, we had some lengthy dicussion on it's use by certain individuals during our pre-show discussion, so it seemed a fun name for this installment. As has been usual as of late, we talk up a few things we've found on the web, and then we continue on discussing your RC Hints and Tips for our GiveAway later this month.

One Time, In Band Camp...

I've got two of my buddies back in the workshop this week for our 174th installment of the show! NavionFlyer gives us an update of what all he's been up to (including some Maker Faire Detroit stuff) and IFLYOS is getting back on his feet now and doing some 3D Printing with a new machine! Of course, we also have some cool deals we've found as well as some great links on the interwebs, too! Ah, yes - and more entries to discuss for our SlowBipe Hints and Tips Contest!

Flying Solo

Yes, in this 173rd installment, I am flying solo - no one is with me in the workshop this week. That's okay, though. We still have plenty of info for you, and the show this week is not NEARLY as long as last week's. LoL

There are a few news items this week, but mainly it's all about your RC Tips that you've submitted for the contest this month.

Another Really Big Show!

Yes, we really push our file limitations with our hoster on this one. I apologize up fron if our 172nd show eats up a lot of space on your listening device - we just had so much to share! We've got lots of great listener tips this week, as well as some great news around the interwebs, including another cool contest from our favorite MultiRotor forums. Also, we have the RCadvisor back with us ending this week's podcast with an explanation of How Airplanes Fly.

Be sure that you get in on our latest contest; it's sponsored by our good friends over at SlowBipe.com. All you have to do is email me your favorite RC Tip, or even post it on our Facebook Fan Page. Good Cheap Foam

This week, it's NavionFlyer that's my co-host and we record show number 171, but this time I'm recording in the new Studio! We break it in right with some news, some letters, and our main topic this week is about some interesting videos Tim found from a guy that's building some need planes out of Dollar Tree Foam (you know, the 20" x 30" stuff you get for only a buck?).

Also, be sure that you get in on our latest contest; it's sponsored by our good friends over at SlowBipe.com. Pushing To The Limit

This week, the two Tims and I try to shed a little light on different ways of getting your servos actions to the control surfaces of your airplane. Yep, it's all about pushrods! Also, we announce a new contest, too! On our September 2nd show we get to give away a cool Mini SlowBipe Kit from our friends over at SlowBipe.com, so be sure you listen and get the dope on how you can enter!

The Old Man And The Sea

First off, I want to apologize for the poor sound quality (on my track) in this 169th installment of our show. I have torn everything up in my workshop while doing this 'Studio build' and unfortunately, all of my professional-grade recording equipment is BURIED! LoL If all goes as planned, I'll be recording our next episode in the new digs and the quality I have always prided myself in should return.

This week, we take a little diversion from our normal RC aircraft discussions and delve into the world of RC Sailing, and who better to tap on this subject than our buddy and avid sailer, Grandpa Tony! This sounds like a great way to keep those thumbs (and brain) nimble on those days that are just not quite right for flying, and Tony shares with us the gear he uses and how it all works.

Power Connectors

After last weekend off due to Field Day, Karl and I are back this week with our 168th installment. I get to give a good, in depth review of the Harbor Freight generator that I broke in last weekend, and we also bring you some various news items we've found on the interwebs, too. The RCadvisor is also back this week with discussion of a new material he's found that we would LOVE to find it's way to the model aircraft arena!

All And Sundry

We've got lots of cool things to discuss during this 167th installment of our show, so I'm certain that you can find something of interest! We talk about FPV antennas, and flying, and building, and the changes I'm making to my FPV SlowStick, and our definition of "scratchbuilding", and Fathers Day, and the upcoming Field Day event next week, and a lot of other things. LoL Please note that the show will be "dark" next week since Tim and I will both be HAMming it up next week, but we'll be back the following week.

Two Tims And A Karl

Well, we're back this week with our 166th installment of the show! Just as we did last week with Karl, this week we break in another new co-host that will be helping us out - my friend Tim "NavionFlyer" Walker! Tim's endeavoring into the FPV game and tells us a little about where he is with his Bixler/SkySurfer project, so he fits right in. We talk about some great investment opportunities, a new plane I'm working on, and the RCadvisor pops in again with his thoughts on Battery Maintenance, so be sure to give this one a listen.

Flying Cats And Bigfoot

Our 165th installment is quite full of crazy stuff, as the title kind of suggests. In this show, we have a new co-host (KarlK) warming Ron's vacant seat, and he does a nice job, too! We cover a little bit of everything this week, but I assure you (Laine, especially) that we have no recipes or other "Oprah-like" content this week. LoL Oh, and the RCadvisor has a great segment on BEC's including the differences between Linear and Switch-mode types, so if you've been in the dark with this topic, this is a great one to check out!
