With Isaac bearing down on us, we made a beeline for the hill on Saturday. Unfortunately, because of rain squals, only a handfull of flyers turned out. We did reap the joy of 15-20mph winds, but the off and on drizzle finally drove us away. We were actually fortunate. As we left, we found ourselves getting bogged down in deep mud. A little bit longer and we would have been getting towed off the top.

Another hot Saturday. We had a slight breeze out of the South, gave us a little respite. DJ and I tried the South/SE Bowl, but unless you had electric (DJ did), it was fruitless. Most of the guys winched on the Westside. With the Ocala FSS contest around the corner, it was probably a good idea to practice, and we got plenty of that.

Another brutual summer day. Zilch wind, high humidity, and 93F temps made for one killer Saturday. Only a handful of flyers turned up. Most were on the winch, including yours truly. A few tried the slopes on the North side and then the South with "floaters" and DHLG's.

Hoping for wind next Saturday!

PS Don't forget we are hosting FSS #5, Unlimited Thermal Duration contest, on Sept 1 and 2 in Morriston, FL (Ocala)!

Sorry no report from last week. Light air and then rain made for a short day.
Unfortunately this Saturday was not any better. Virtually no wind and relentless sun made for some tough flying. A few brave slopers tried flying on the North slope and switched to the the east with the changing winds. Six of us, the largest group, spent the whole time on the winch, on the West side.
