For once we had more wind than we could use. Saturday had winds of 25 with bursts much stronger than that (35?). We were more worried about windburn rather than sunburn. As you can tell by the pictures nothing but serious slope planes were in the air, Moths, Gulps, Erasers. I was so busy pulling "half-pipes" that I forgot to take pictues. The only photog was Wayne, who shot most of his pictures before 11am.

We had a break in our dry weather, It was an off and on rainy day. Nice wind out of the NE and when it was working, it was great. But the wind slowly shifted to the East and conditions declined. But by then it was 2PM and it was time for the Peachtree.

It was a hot one today. Plenty of sun and pretty dusty. We flew on the South side and the wind and thermals were fairly good (15mph). But as the day dragged on the wind shifted to the East/South East and flying got tougher. We had a visitor from the Orlando Buzzards, Gordon (aussief3b), who came down to try out some slope flying. Unfortunately he arrived as the landfill was closing, so he had to settle for lunch at the Peachtree and some long tales from us about how great our flying was today!

PS Pictures are from Ben this week.....thanks Ben

I didn't go flying on our "beloved hill" this weekend. There was a TD contest in Orlando, FSS #1. Had a great weekend with several other Pompano Hill Flyers at the contest. There's more info and pictures on this thread:

But don't worry about pictures from the "Hill". Ben (Falcon880) sent some pics from Saturday. As always enjoy!
Thanks Ben.

Sorry I've been negligent with the weekly blog. I didn't take a camera up Saturday and Wayne just got his pictures to me yesterday. Plus Charlie (Wake Turbulence) and wife had their baby Saturday...yeah! Too much stuff going on! Well on to the pictures.
