Most people who attend the NEAT Fair are familiar with the annual night flying contest. Last year, I didn't participate much since a mid-air took out my Slow Stick early! It won't happen again...

Just finished my Tricopter, with much help from the pictures and guide on www.rcexplorer.se. I'm using the same basic design and electronics, with the exception of some Turnigy 1050kv outrunners instead of the AXN motors. It's built from basswood and G10 fiberglass I cut with a CNC mill. FPV gear to be installed soon!

My next project is a balsa twin EDF Airbus A320 from plans on Aerosquare (http://www.aerosquare.com/content/ca...21/51/lang,en/). I've resized the airplane from a 59" wingspan to a 48" span for the use of 56mm XF fans instead of 65mm Vasa fans. I'll be powering the model with two DonsRC "Wicked" 4800kV motors on 4S for a total of 772W. I'll also be adding a few scale features such as flaps, retracts, and gear doors. I'm projecting a total of 15 servos , as each gear door, retract, and flap section will require it's own. As of now, I've finished preparing the plans for laser cutting using AutoCAD, and will be starting the build as soon as I receive the parts.

Just finished building a new ground station for my FPV flying. It's an aluminum briefcase from Harbor Freight, set up to hold all of my FPV ground equipment and outfitted with internal wiring. All I need to do is assemble my patch antenna and receiver on a tripod and plug external power and A/V cords into the terminals on the side of the box and I'm all set to fly! The goggles are for flying and the DVD player in for spectator viewing and using my video recorder.

Here's my latest build, Leadfeather's "Firefly" EPP wing all decked out for FPV flying. I'm using a Blue Wonder 24g motor, a 12A ESC, 3 5g servos, an AR6110 receiver, and a Thunder Power 3S 910mah Lipo. The video system is the $27 900mhz wireless camera from www.geeks.com, which is powered by a separate 2s 220mah pack. It seems to work well for short range flying, and the only mod was the removal and separation of the transmitter and 5V regulator from the camera enclosure.

Here are some pictures of the Komet I designed for Plantraco. I've never really posted them anywhere, and thought that I'd share. See http://www.microflight.com/Online-Ca...Kits/Komet-Kit for more information.

This has been an ongoing project of mine for quite some time, but progress is being made. I'm currently working to re-build the main landing gear mounts after discovering that the model is too heavy for the current mounting hardware. Hopefully, a successful first flight will occur in the near future. See the build thread for more information: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...1050660&page=3
