I'm a big fan of delta airplanes. I've built several different sizes all out of blue and pink foam. All the different delta plans that I have built come from a web site called crazyherb.com. I've built evrything from his crazy bee delta for a .15 sized glow engine to the Jack's delta which is one of the best flying delta planes ever. He use to have several different type's of plans, but I think he's removed most of them. He had plans for a .40 sized delta called an Extra Delta, because it had the profile shaped fuselage running down the middle of the wing. I cut out all the parts to build the .40 sized Extra Delta but never finished it.

I really wanted to try out the design so I scaled the planes down to a park jet sized Extra delta. The maiden flight was perfect and this little delta has been my favorite park flyer since. Well that was 2 years ago and I was only flying the delta maybe once a month. I wanted to build the Twinkle floating delta found here on RCGroups, but I never found time to build one. I got to thinking how stable the Extra Delta flys and that it had a rudder on it so I could steer it if I put floats on it. I had some GWS floats lying around without a home so after a nights work of mounting them to the underside of the Extra Delta, I had an electric delta float plane.

I took the Extra Delta to a nearby park pond for its maiden. I was a little nervous and there was a few people fishing so that didn't help either. I practiced a few high speed runs on...Continue Reading
