Having read many suggestions on beefing up the landing gear on this model, here's my progress to date. The landing gear reinforcement pieces are angled so as to apply force on the stock gear mounts directly above the blind nuts where the gear attaches.
I've also added a pair of triangular braces to the bottom of the motor mount. To avoid using tape on the canopy, I made a locking mechanism using a 3/16 inch dowel, and a couple of drilled out pushrod guides. There's a rubber washer at the bottom of the dowel that provides some friction to keep it locked inflight.
Will update when the weather permits a flight!
