Well, I have to thank RCGroups MiniRotors and especially MassiveOverkill, jameschen072 and my youngest daughter (who rocks my PicooZ) who have made me want to fly again.
I was gifted an old spit fire plane as a punk kid with gas engine and a kite line controlling the body as a present back in the early 80s. I was not allowed to fly it without adult supervision and well, it didn't exactly excite my folks. So unfortunately only 2 flights logged and that was it for my RC experience. Then about 5 years ago I found the Picoo Z http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...mentid=5565645 on ebay. Grabbed 3, gifted a couple and played with it a bunch. Lets just say 2 channels of fun and 2 minutes flight time is pretty tame. Yet, it did get me excited about the hobby again. I am an avid tech person and knew that in time this would become something great.
I focused on nature photography for the past 6 years (well, and raising my girls) and really found myself wanting to get the aerial perspective. I also saw the opportunity for it to help me with wildlife research. So I went back online researching this year and found all of you on the mini multirotor thread telling me that not only can I fly, but I might even have a chance at taking some half decent shots. As a MAJOR plus, with equipment that wont eviscerate anyone who happens to be near me and my n00b skills.
Well, as I live in Canada shipping is slow and expensive. I ordered from china as they were carrying the V202 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...mentid=5565658
that I so desperately wanted. Now I wait! Trolling, lurking reading all that you amazing people are willing to share. What a great community - so happy to have found you all!
