First posting to RCGroups: Attached are four photos of a Flying Wing scratch built 17 years ago. I pulled it out of storage about 3 weeks ago, replaced the glow plug, started the MVVS 40 engine and tuned it on a test stand, replaced the weathered fuel tank, then decided to put retractable gear in it. It is now ready for the runway and test flight. Dry weight 3 lb 10 oz. 12 Jan: Engine tuning; taxi tested and high speed runs on ground in 10 knots -- left main wheel locked up. All else good to go for a flight test next weekend. Anyone interested in scratch-building a flying wing version (of a scale tactical aircraft), let me know. They fly like the speed of heat and it is quite an experience to flight test them for those interested in scale-like flight characteristics. More to come....Continue Reading
