so lets get this bit out the way, im a total newbie.
Never done a build before. Spent days trawling the web searching for reviews on which plan to get as a complete and utter begginer.
Finally settled on a Seagul Boomerang v2. Didnt know it was a V2 till it arrived but never mind.
So i unpacked everything carefully, read the manual, read it again, then read it again. Some pages just didnt seem to make any sense, but never the less i started.
So first, a nice big clean build area, check
second:- tools, CA, Epoxy , check
third patience, well it takes as long it takes.
First instructions are to CA in the hinges, never done that before but i found a cracking video clip
Didnt look too hard so gave it a shot, ailerons, rudder, elevator, all done. That was enough for my first night.
Second night and next page in the notes and where things just dont quite follow or make sense. This is all about putting the wing brace in. In the older boomerang model i think the wing brace was wooden and square shaped, however in this model its a metal tube. The manual talks about ensuring there are no gaps between the brace and the box it fits into, and to ensure to coat both sides of the brace, its a tube it doesnt have two sides, un less you count the inside and outside. Anyway dis-regarding the notes I dry fitted everything together, drew a halfway mark as indicated, then mixed my 30 min epoxy , and bonded half the brace into...Continue Reading
